The ideal candidate will excel in designing, developing, and optimizing complex dashboards and reports, while collaborating closely with business stakeholders to deliver actionable insights. The role also requires additional expertise in scripting, REST API, and familiarity with DevOps practices to support automation, deployment, and troubleshooting.\nAdditional Information*\nThe base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Mississauga, ON is CAD $115k - CAD $125k/year & benefits (see below).\nThe Role\nResponsibilities:\nDesign, develop, and maintain interactive reports, dashboards, and ad-hoc queries using Power BI.\nCollaborate with business users and analysts to gather requirements and translate them into data solutions.\nUtilize Power Query, Power Pivot, and data modeling techniques to create efficient data models.\nDevelop and optimize DAX queries for performance and analytical depth.\nCreate and manage Paginated Reports using Power BI Report Builder or similar tools.\nManage and query SQL Server or other relational databases to extract and analyze data.\nSupport script-based jobs and automation workflows through scripting and REST API integrations.\nAssist in deploying solutions using Azure DevOps, GIT, and related CI/CD practices, with a conceptual understanding of deployment pipelines.\nTroubleshoot data-related issues and provide quick resolutions to ensure system reliability.\nParticipate in the full project life cycle, from requirement gathering to deployment and maintenance.\nRequirements:\nMinimum of 8+ years of experience in data warehousing, business intelligence, analytics, and reporting.\nAt least 3+ years of experience with relational and multi-dimensional (OLAP) data modeling.\nProficient in SQL, including query optimization and database design.\nStrong understanding of financial products, including Fixed Income, Equity, and Derivatives.\nAbility to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects in a high-pressure environment.\nExtensive experience in data modeling using Power Query and Power Pivot.\nProficiency in DAX for creating complex measures and calculated columns.\nStrong SQL skills, especially with SQL Server or similar relational databases, including query optimization.\nProven experience in developing reports and dashboards for enterprise-level systems.\nSolid understanding of Fixed Income, Equity, and Derivatives businesses.\nAbility to analyze user requirements, recommend solutions, and implement them effectively.\nExperience supporting REST API integrations and scripting for automation purposes.\nBasic understanding of DevOps principles, version control (GIT, Azure Repos), and deployment pipelines.\nExcellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.\nSelf-driven with strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work under pressure.\nPreferred, but not required:\nWorking knowledge of Data Flows within Power BI.\nExperience with Power BI Report Server (PBRS).\nFamiliarity with Power BI Service (Power On) and cloud-based analytics solutions.\nExperience with Snowflake data warehouse or other cloud data platforms.\nWe offer:\nA multinational organization with 58 offices in 22 countries and the possibility to work abroad.\n15 days (3 weeks) of paid annual leave plus an additional 10 days of personal leave (floating days and sick days).\nA comprehensive insurance plan including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and long-term disability.\nFlexible hybrid policy.\nRRSP with employer’s contribution up to 4%.\nA higher education certification policy.\nOn-demand Udemy for Business for all Synechron employees with free access to more than 5000 curated courses.\nCoaching opportunities with experienced colleagues from our Financial Innovation Labs (FinLabs) and Center of Excellences (CoE) groups.\nCutting edge projects at the world’s leading tier-one banks, financial institutions and insurance firms.\nA truly diverse, fun-loving and global work culture.\nS YNECHRON’S DIVERSITY & INCLUSION STATEMENT\nDiversity & Inclusion are fundamental to our culture, and Synechron is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace and is an affirmative action employer.
