Syngenta is seeking a Paralegal to join our team in Durham, NC!\nIn this role, you’ll play an important part in protecting the innovations that drive the future of agriculture. Working closely with patent attorneys, agents, and inventors, you’ll support the preparation, filing, and prosecution of patent applications across the United States and internationally. Your expertise, organization, and attention to detail will help ensure critical intellectual property is protected accurately and efficiently.\nAccountabilities:\nPrepare, review, and coordinate documentation required for filing and prosecuting U.S., international, and foreign patent applications.\nFile patent applications, responses, and supporting documents with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), using electronic filing systems and applicable certification procedures.\nIndependently draft patent prosecution correspondence and documentation for attorney review, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely submission.\nCollaborate with attorneys, patent agents, inventors, and external partners to facilitate patent filings and responses worldwide.\nMonitor critical deadlines, maintain organized patent records, and provide backup support for patent docketing and database administration.\nSupport patent procurement, prosecution, maintenance activities, and special projects while managing competing priorities and maintaining confidentiality.\n Bachelor’s degree, Paralegal Certification, or equivalent significant experience in a related field.\n3-5 years of relevant professional experience, including required hands-on patent prosecution experience.\nFamiliarity with U.S. and international patent filing procedures, patent procurement, prosecution, maintenance, and related documentation.\nExperience with patent docket administration preferred, including tracking deadlines and maintaining accurate case records.\nStrong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Microsoft Office applications.\nExceptional organizational, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and a demanding caseload.\nDemonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, deliver excellent service, and work effectively both independently and collaboratively.\n A minimum of 2 years in current position is required for internal applicants.\nAll applicants must be eligible to work in the US.\nThis position is based on-site in Durham, North Carolina.\nWhat We Offer:\nA culture that celebrates belonging and collaboration, promotes professional development and strives for a work-life balance that supports the team members.
