To support this mission, Syngenta's SE Production Operations Team is seeking a Quality Control Technician in Nampa, ID.\nThis role will be responsible for supporting laboratory activities related to testing of vegetable crops with an emphasis conducting testing on vegetable seeds. This effort is to support Quality Control testing for basic and commercial seeds with the goal of delivering a customer focused world class supply.\nAccountabilities:\nProvide support for HSE compliance and continuous improvement for all QC testing activities.\nPerform assigned tasks in the workroom to meet demand levels and ensure optimum capacity is met. Examples of supporting tasks include dishes, paper prep, treating seeds and more as assigned.\nSupport testing activities in the quality control laboratories that requires repeated motions for manual sowing and evaluation of vegetable seeds (i.e., sweet corn, beans, peas, watermelon, etc.).\nParticipate in seed testing processes that are conducted in accordance with the Syngenta protocols and the accrediting agencies for each lab.\nSupport QC laboratory and testing activities as required by testing volumes which may require overtime to meet business demands.\nSupport complaint and claims investigations through diagnostic testing and other support.\nCommunicate sample test results and maintain accurate records using computer-based technologies.\nProvide testing support and analysis in making quality decisions related to inventory disposition that is compliance with Syngenta's risk management policies, codes of practice, standards, and KPIs.\nSupport the development and validation of new physiology testing methodology.\n Required:\nHands-on experience with laboratory processes for seed testing.\nKnowledge of Quality Control Laboratory Processes.\nExperience in an international work environment; Ability to deal with various and diverse cultures and work habits.\nHigh school diploma/HBO or higher education in biological science or related area preferred.\nExperience in a laboratory or quality testing related function, (preferably in a seed company).\nMust have good computer skills, particularly in Excel, SAP, and/or other databases.\nFluent in English.\nDesired:\nManual dexterity for repeated motions of sowing and evaluating vegetable seeds.\nInspiring team member with good communication skills.\nAnalytical skills well developed.\nIntercultural sensitivity.\nCustomer focused.\nQuality conscious and service minded.\nAble to cope with pressure and conflicting demands.\nProblem solving ability and decision-making skills.\nAbility to deal with multicultural differences.\n What We Offer:\nA culture that celebrates belonging and collaboration, promotes professional development and strives for a work-life balance that supports the team members.
