To support this mission, we are seeking a Senior Formulation Development Chemist to join our Formulation Development Department within the Product Technology and Engineering Group. Key responsibilities will include:\nActing as a lead formulation scientist within technical project(s) to bring formulated products to market.\nIndependently defining formulation workplans, delivering and validating own technical data.\nEngaging independently with technical and non-technical functions across the organization.\nActively identifying and exploring opportunities to generate broad IP in own projects.\nProviding technical support of formulated products in the market.\nTraining colleagues with the ability to effectively supervise less experienced members of staff when required.\nDeveloping broad technical knowledge of experimental techniques and staying up to date on developments in the field.\n What we are looking for\nFirst degree in Chemistry or closely related scientific discipline with PhD in Chemistry or related scientific discipline, or relevant industrial experience within the chemical industry, preferably in a formulation-based role.\nBasic knowledge of project management.\nHands-on experience of working in laboratory with proven track record of working safely, independently and efficiently.\nBasic knowledge of data science with skills to support experiment design and data analysis.\nExperience in developing formulations for commercial application with an understanding of the compromises needed during product development is desired.\n Due to high interest in this position, we will only consider applications that include: (1) a CV, and (2) a cover letter explaining your motivation and suitability for the role.\nOur site\nJealott's Hill International Research Centre UK is situated in pleasant semi-rural surroundings between Bracknell and Maidenhead and is the place of work for approximately 800 Syngenta scientists and support staff.
