Syntax has offices worldwide, and partners with Oracle, SAP, AWS, Microsoft, IBM and other global technology leaders.\nJr Network Engineer\nJob Summary\nThe Jr Network Engineer supports the design, implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of network infrastructure to ensure reliable, secure, and efficient connectivity across the organization. This role works closely with senior network engineers, infrastructure teams, and service providers to support daily operations, troubleshoot network issues, and contribute to network improvement initiatives. The position also supports the adoption of modern automation and AI-enabled tools to improve visibility, accelerate issue resolution, and strengthen operational efficiency.\nKey Responsibilities\nSupport the configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of LAN, WAN, WLAN, and network security infrastructure.\nAssist in troubleshooting network incidents, connectivity issues, and performance problems.\nMonitor network availability, alerts, logs, and performance metrics to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner.\nSupport implementation, testing, and documentation of network changes and enhancements.\nCollaborate with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to support projects, upgrades, and infrastructure initiatives.\nAssist with network device administration, including routers, switches, firewalls, access points, and related tools.\nMaintain accurate documentation of network diagrams, configurations, procedures, and incidents.\nFollow established change management, security, and operational support processes.\nParticipate in root cause analysis and support corrective actions for recurring network issues.\nContribute to continuous improvement efforts, including automation, monitoring enhancements, and AI-enabled operational support where applicable.\nSupport the use of AI-assisted tools for log analysis, knowledge retrieval, documentation, and issue triage when appropriate and approved.\nEnsure adherence to company standards, policies, and cybersecurity best practices.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related field, or equivalent experience.\n1-3 years of experience in network support, network administration, or infrastructure operations.\nBasic understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, switching, and subnetting.\nFamiliarity with network monitoring tools and troubleshooting methodologies.\nExposure to firewalls, wireless networks, VPNs, and network security concepts.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nGood communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.\nWillingness to learn new technologies and support evolving network environments.\nInterest in using automation and AI-enabled tools to improve operational efficiency, diagnostics, and documentation.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience supporting enterprise network environments or IT infrastructure teams.\nExposure to Cisco, Aruba, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Meraki, or similar technologies.\nFamiliarity with scripting or automation tools such as Python, PowerShell, or similar.\nKnowledge of ITIL, incident management, or change management processes.\nExperience with network documentation tools, monitoring platforms, or ticketing systems.\nUnderstanding of cloud networking concepts or hybrid environments.\nExposure to AI-enabled tools for network monitoring, alert analysis, or automated documentation.\nAn appreciation for innovation, continuous improvement, and modern delivery approaches, including automation and AI-enabled services.\nEducation & Certifications\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or related field preferred.\nCisco CCNA or equivalent networking certification is highly desirable.\nAdditional certifications in network security, wireless, or infrastructure technologies are a plus.\nTraining in automation, scripting, or AI-enabled operational tools is an advantage.\nWhy Syntax?\nBecome a part of our success story and work in a company with exciting innovation projects that are causing a stir across the industry.
