This role is responsible for helping ensure adherence to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal security policies while partnering with cross-functional teams to strengthen Syntax’s security posture, governance, risk management, and control environment.\nThe ideal candidate brings strong experience in information security, governance, risk and compliance (GRC), audits, and regulatory frameworks such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, NIST, GDPR, HIPAA, or similar standards. This role also supports Syntax’s broader commitment to innovation by leveraging automation, data-driven insights, and AI-enabled capabilities to improve compliance efficiency, reporting, and risk visibility.\nKey Responsibilities\nLead and manage security compliance programs and initiatives across Syntax.\nEnsure compliance with applicable security frameworks, standards, and regulatory requirements.\nCoordinate and support internal and external audits, assessments, and remediation activities.\nDevelop, review, and maintain security policies, procedures, and controls.\nConduct risk assessments and identify gaps in security and compliance processes.\nPartner with IT, Legal, HR, Engineering, and business stakeholders to implement compliance requirements.\nMonitor regulatory changes, industry trends, and emerging risks impacting cybersecurity and compliance.\nPrepare compliance reports, metrics, dashboards, and executive-level presentations.\nSupport vendor and third-party security risk assessments.\nDrive continuous improvement initiatives related to governance, risk, and compliance processes.\nProvide guidance and mentorship to junior compliance or security team members.\nAssist in incident response activities from a compliance and regulatory perspective when required.\nContribute to the adoption of automation, intelligent workflows, and AI-enabled tools to enhance compliance monitoring, evidence collection, and reporting efficiency.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field.\n5+ years of experience in information security, cybersecurity compliance, risk management, or GRC-related roles.\nStrong knowledge of security frameworks and standards such as:ISO 27001\nSOC 2\nNIST\nPCI-DSS\nGDPR\nHIPAA\nCIS Controls\n\nExperience managing audits and compliance assessments.\nStrong understanding of cybersecurity principles, risk management, and security controls.\nExcellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.\nStrong communication and stakeholder management abilities.\nAbility to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.\nExperience using data, automation, or AI-supported tools to improve compliance processes is a plus.\nPreferred Qualifications\nProfessional certifications such as:CISSP\nCISM\nCRISC\nCISA\nISO 27001 Lead Auditor/Implementer\n\nExperience with cloud security compliance across AWS, Azure, or GCP.\nExperience using GRC platforms and compliance management tools.\nBackground in highly regulated industries such as healthcare, finance, or SaaS environments.\nExposure to automation, analytics, and AI-enabled solutions that improve governance, risk, and compliance operations.\nAn appreciation for innovation, continuous improvement, and modern delivery approaches, including automation and AI-enabled services.\nEducation & Certifications\nBachelor’s degree in Information Security, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline preferred.\nProfessional certifications in security, audit, risk, or compliance are highly valued.\nCertifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CISA, or ISO 27001 Lead Auditor/Implementer are a strong asset.\nKey Competencies\nGovernance, Risk & Compliance (GRC)\nSecurity Auditing\nRegulatory Compliance\nRisk Assessment & Mitigation\nPolicy Development\nStakeholder Management\nAttention to Detail\nLeadership & Mentoring\nAI-Enabled Process Improvement\nAutomation & Reporting Optimization\nWhy Syntax?\nBecome a part of our success story and work in a company with exciting innovation projects that are causing a stir across the industry.
