This role serves as a bridge between business requirements, functional design, and technical implementation, ensuring scalable, efficient, and high-quality SAP solutions aligned with enterprise architecture standards. The position also supports the adoption of modern delivery approaches, including automation and AI-enabled capabilities, to improve solution quality, delivery efficiency, and long-term maintainability.\nKey Responsibilities\nDefine, design, and govern SAP ABAP technical architecture in alignment with project and enterprise requirements.\nProvide guidance on ABAP development standards, performance optimization, and best practices in S/4HANA environments.\nLead technical design sessions and translate functional requirements into scalable technical solutions.\nEvaluate existing custom developments and recommend remediation, simplification, or optimization approaches.\nOversee and review developments, including RICEF objects, CDS Views, OData Services, Enhancements, and Interfaces.\nCollaborate with functional, integration, and BASIS teams to ensure end-to-end technical integrity.\nProvide thought leadership on ABAP modernization, including HANA-optimized code, RAP, and Fiori enablement.\nSupport the identification and application of AI-enabled use cases within SAP programs, such as intelligent automation, code analysis support, process simplification, and decision support.\nGuide teams on responsible and practical use of AI-assisted development tools where appropriate, including productivity, quality, and documentation improvements.\nEnsure compliance with security, data privacy, and enterprise architecture guidelines.\nMentor ABAP developers and contribute to building technical capability within the team.\nSupport project planning, estimation, and delivery in SAP transformation initiatives.\nContribute to modernization strategies that may include automation, intelligent workflows, and AI-supported operational improvements.\n\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.\n8+ years of SAP ABAP development experience, with at least 3+ years as a technical architect or lead.\nStrong expertise in ABAP Objects, CDS Views, OData Services, AMDP, Enhancements, BADIs, and performance tuning.\nHands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA conversions, greenfield implementations, and system integrations.\nKnowledge of SAP BTP, Fiori, RAP model, and modern ABAP programming practices.\nFamiliarity with SAP Solution Manager, ChaRM, and ALM tools.\nStrong architectural thinking and solution-design capabilities.\nExcellent leadership and stakeholder management skills.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities and drive results in a complex environment.\nExcellent communication and documentation skills, both technical and non-technical.\nTeam mentoring and capability-building mindset.\nSolid understanding of how AI can support SAP delivery, including development productivity, test support, documentation, code quality analysis, and automation opportunities.\nAbility to assess where AI-enabled solutions are appropriate in enterprise SAP environments, with attention to governance, security, and business value.\n\nSkills\nExperience with SAP BTP services that support automation, integration, or intelligent extensions.\nExposure to SAP AI-related capabilities, intelligent automation, or process optimization initiatives.\nFamiliarity with using AI-assisted tools to improve development velocity, technical documentation, testing, or remediation efforts.\nExperience supporting modernization roadmaps that incorporate automation and AI-enabled services.\nKnowledge of emerging SAP innovation patterns and how they can be applied in enterprise transformation programs.\nSAP ABAP on HANA or SAP S/4HANA Development certification.\nAn appreciation for innovation, continuous improvement, and modern delivery approaches, including automation and AI-enabled services.\nEducation & Certifications\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.\nSAP ABAP on HANA certification or SAP S/4HANA Development certification is highly desirable.\nCertifications or training related to SAP BTP, SAP Fiori, RAP, or enterprise architecture are a plus.\nTraining or exposure to AI, intelligent automation, or data-driven solution design is an advantage\n\nReporting To: SAP Program Manager / Enterprise Architect\nLocation: [Onsite / Hybrid / Remote, as applicable]\nWhy Syntax?\nBecome a part of our success story and work in a company with exciting innovation projects that are causing a stir across the industry.
