In Derby we manage all service activities in the UK and Ireland for both the food and pharmaceutical customers.\nBecome part of our team and apply now!\nResponsible for the installation, troubleshooting, testing, analyzing, maintaining, repairing, and training of Syntegon packaging equipment and associated products, to ensure minimal downtime, maximum production efficiencies and efficient operation of customer equipment, while being backed by a team of Syntegon experts. Primary focus is to provide customers with excellent technical customer service and ensure complete satisfaction. This position has a direct and significant impact on maintaining our customer base as well as growing new business for Syntegon Technology Services.\nKey Responsibilities:\nWithin area of operation, the Field Service Engineer will:\nParticipates in internal, external, and vendor training to maintain and further develop level of technical expertise and proficiency.\nPerforms assembly, installation, startup, modernization upgrades, commissioning and production support at customer sites.\nPerforms service work, including troubleshooting and preventative maintenance at customer sites.\nProvides Help Line activities to customers\nProvides training for customers on proper operation, machinery updates/modifications, maintenance, operational health and safety requirements of packaging machinery.\nProvides support to customer operations with needed adjustments and settings on equipment to ensure optimized performance.\nSupport final machine checkout at Factory Acceptance Test at Syntegon.\nIdentify and support implementation of continuous improvement opportunities.\nRepresents the company to customers and colleagues in a professional manner acting as an ambassador for Syntegon ensuring good working relationships with the customer and Syntegon colleagues and that Syntegon’s reputation is sustained.\nMaintain and contribute to a well-organized working environment at both company and customer facilities.\nDomestically and international travel\n Basic Requirements\nMust have completed apprenticeship in the area of mechanics, precision mechanics, electrical engineering or mechatronics or have equivalent experience\nMust have at least 3 years of work experience in the machinery manufacturing. \nMust have a minimum of 2 years of experience working with PC’s and Microsoft Office.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\nAbility to collaborate with other functions and foster teamwork.\nStrong problem-solving skills.\nAbility to work independently.\nStrong mechanical aptitude, detail oriented.\nStrong mathematical skills.\nAbility to adapt to multiple and changing priorities and deadlines.\nAllen Bradley, Siemens or Beckhoff experience is a plus.\nProficient in English language, reading and writing.\nAdditional language skills a plus.\nPhysical Requirements\nWork in tight quarters; on top of and underneath packaging equipment.\nStand, stoop, kneel and bend continuously while working on equipment (66% of the time).\nSubmit to safety, background and drug/alcohol testing as required by Syntegon or our customers \nWear personal protective equipment as required.\n What we offer;\nAt Syntegon, you’ll have the space to grow and make an impact.
