Reporting to the SVP, Finance, you’ll own the accounting close, internal controls, compliance, and reporting that keep an early-stage company running with precision.\n You’ll be building the financial backbone for a company creating the future of collaborative intelligence, thinking as much like an operator as an accountant - setting up the systems, rigor, and discipline that let us scale with confidence.\nWHAT YOU'LL DO\nAccounting & Close\nOwn the full accounting cycle: general ledger, month-end and year-end close, journal entries, and reconciliations, delivering accurate, timely financials every period.\nEstablish and maintain GAAP-compliant accounting policies and procedures that scale with a fast-growing startup.\nManage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, and expense workflows with care and precision.\nControls & Compliance\nDesign and enforce internal controls that safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data.\nManage tax filings, audits, and regulatory compliance in partnership with external accountants, auditors, and advisors.\nServe as SynthBee’s subject matter expert on accounting standards, revenue recognition, and financial compliance requirements.\nReporting & Systems\nPrepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and board-ready reporting packages for the SVP, Finance and the Senior Leadership Team.\nOwn and continuously optimize our accounting and finance tech stack, ensuring data integrity at every touchpoint.\nManage cash flow, banking relationships, and treasury operations to keep the company liquid and informed.\nPartnership & Performance\nPartner with FP&A to reconcile actuals to budget and give leadership a clear, reliable view of financial performance.\nCollaborate with People and IT on payroll, equity administration, and cross-functional finance processes.\nPerformance in this role is measured against established OKRs co-created with the SVP, Finance and aligned with SynthBee’s Mission Control Operations.\nWHAT YOU'LL BRING\n3-5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally including a blend of public accounting and in-house or startup environments.\nDeep working knowledge of US GAAP and hands-on ownership of the full accounting close.\nExpertise with modern accounting and ERP platforms (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks or similar) and a knack for building scalable financial systems.\nExperience designing and operating internal controls, and managing audits, tax, and regulatory compliance.\nStrong analytical skills.\nHigh attention to detail and discretion, especially when handling sensitive financial information.\nThe ability to build structure in ambiguity without losing warmth or perspective. The role requires extended periods of computer use, research, and code development.
