This role will focus on hands-on system and integration testing, test automation, network management protocols, and troubleshooting across software and networking environments. The successful candidate will work closely with development teams to identify defects, validate fixes, and ensure applications meet functional, technical, performance, and operational requirements.\nWhat you'll do\nDevelop a strong understanding of network management applications, system architecture, interfaces, and operational workflows.\nDevelop, review, execute, and maintain system, integration, functional, and regression test cases.\nBuild and maintain automated test solutions using Python.\nPerform hands-on testing of network management applications and supporting network infrastructure.\nValidate network configuration and management functionality using protocols and interfaces such as NETCONF and gNMI.\nCharacterize, document, and track software defects, working closely with development teams to reproduce issues and verify fixes.\nVerify that products meet technical, functional, performance, and business requirements.\nPerform network and application troubleshooting using packet captures, traffic generators, logs, and other diagnostic tools.\nTest network devices, services, APIs, databases, containers, and distributed system components as part of end-to-end system validation.\nSupport testing of IP networking, routing, VLANs, network management interfaces, and automated device configuration.\nDocument test results, defects, findings, and supporting evidence using test management and issue-tracking tools.\nWork independently while collaborating closely with software development, networking, systems, and integration teams.\nWhat you'll need to get the job done\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.\n8+ years of relevant industry experience in software, system, integration, or network testing.\nStrong hands-on experience testing network management applications.\nStrong experience developing test automation using Python.\nHands-on knowledge of NETCONF and gNMI for network device configuration, management, or validation.\nStrong understanding of IP networking, including TCP, UDP, VLANs, routing, and the OSI model.\nExperience working with routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and/or IS-IS.\nExperience working with routers, switches, and networked systems in lab or production-like environments.\nExperience working in Linux environments.\nExperience with Docker, Kubernetes, containers, and virtualized application environments.\nExperience with network troubleshooting and traffic analysis tools such as tcpdump, iPerf, Spirent, IXIA, or similar technologies.\nExperience working with data formats and interfaces such as JSON, XML, YAML, Protobuf, and REST APIs.\nExperience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.\nStrong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills with the ability to work independently and within a collaborative technical team.\nThe successful candidate must be able to work in Canada and obtain clearance under the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP).\nAbility to work onsite four days per week in a hybrid environment.\nWhat
