Other duties may be assigned.\nPlans and prepares work schedules and assigns employees to specific duties.\nFormulates pricing policies on merchandise according to requirements for profitability of store operations.\nCoordinates sales promotion activities and prepares, or directs workers preparing, merchandise displays and advertising copy.\nSupervises employees engaged in sales work, taking of inventories, reconciling cash with sales receipts, keeping operating records, or preparing daily record of transactions for Accountant, or performs work of subordinates, as needed.\nOrders merchandise or prepares requisitions to replenish merchandise on hand.\nEnsures compliance of employees with established security, sales, and recordkeeping procedures and practices.\nAbility to satisfactorily perform all store functions including use of appropriate computer and point-of-sale systems.\nAdheres to Good Business Practices to meet or exceed applicable sanitation and safety regulations and standard.\nAnswers customer's complaints or inquiries\nSupervisory Responsibilities:\nManages the Cash & Carry Store. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit. Also directly supervises non-supervisory employees. \nCarries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.\nResponsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.\nQualifications:\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\nEducation and/or Experience:\nFive years experience as manager or assistant manager in a retail operation with preference given to retail grocery store experience.\nExtensive knowledge of retail practices. Must have broad experience in people management with superlative supervisory skills.\nExtensive knowledge of business related accounting practices and profit and loss statements.\nMust be able to satisfactorily perform all functions of a retail grocery store operation.\nWide-range experience required in marketing and in building customer loyalty.\nTwo or four year college degree in applicable major may be substituted for part of the required experience.\nLanguage Skills:\nAbility to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. \nAbility to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.\nAbility to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.\nMathematical Skills:\nAbility to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.\nAbility to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.\nReasoning Ability:\nAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.\nAbility to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.\nPhysical Demands:\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.\nReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; climb or balance; and talk or hear. \nThe employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell.
