(NYSE: SYY)\nRole:\nClass 1 Delivery Driver\nThis is a delivery position responsible for driving a tractor trailer for the purpose of delivering and unloading various products to Sysco customers. This requires using excellent customer service skills, and working in accordance with Ministry of Transportation regulations and Sysco Work Methods. Overtime hours, working weekends and holidays, and starting at various early morning start times may be required in order to successfully meet customers’ needs.\nRole Responsibilities:\nDeliver product within assigned route schedule and time windows.\n\nImmediately inform management team of any deviations.\n\nUnload product from trailer, by hand or using hand cart, and place in designated customer storage areas. May include transporting product down ramps, stairs, or docks, in all weather conditions.\n\nFrequently lift, push, or move product that weighs up to 45 kgs; frequently reach up to 2 meters to stack and unstack pallets and hand cart; constantly bend and twist while loading and unloading product, and retrieving items from trailer.\n\nOperate assigned Sysco Transportation System (STS) delivery system to scan each item to be delivered to generate invoices. Verify delivery of items with customer and obtain proper signatures.\n\nContact management for authorization when discrepancies on invoice and communicate all errors/returns.\n\nCollect money (checks) where required, and turn in or deposit all funds collected daily.\n\nPickup, load and unload damaged goods and customer returns, and complete necessary paperwork.\n\nPerform pre-trip and post-trip responsibilities in accordance with Ministry of Transportation (MOT) regulations and Sysco policies and procedures.\n\nPerform coupling procedures for the tractor/trailer as needed.\n\nComplete MOT logs (electronic or manual as required), company vehicle maintenance reports and reconcile with appropriate company representative as required.\n\nFollow Sysco work methods at all times, and immediately advise supervisor of any unsafe conditions.\n\nAdhere to all food safety standard operating procedures.\n\nMaintain sanitary conditions in tractor and trailer and assist with maintaining sanitary conditions in the warehouse and yard.\n\nMaintain and safely operate all assigned equipment, including but not limited to hand cart, pallets, load bars, STS unit, and personal protective equipment.\n\nAttend all required company meetings.\n\nOther duties may be assigned.\n\nQualifications/Skills/Job Requirements: \nEssential Skills and Knowledge:\nSafely operate vehicle in a variety of traffic and weather conditions.\n\nMeet or exceed minimum productivity levels established by the Company.\n\nMeet or exceed established cases per error goals.\n\nDemonstrate strong customer relations and problem resolution skills.\n\nEffectively plan and organize work activities independent of direct supervision.\n\nDevelop a good working knowledge of product and inventory control techniques and procedures.\n\nMaintain ongoing inter-department communications related to routing, safety, and customer relations.\n\nBasic Requirements:\nMust possess a valid Class 1 Driver’s License with a “clean” driving record (including: no single DUI in the last 3 years and no multiple DUIs within the last 10 years).\n\n1 year commercial driving experience.\n\nAble to read, write and communicate in English as it relates to the job and to the safety regulations\n\nMust have basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).\n\nMust pass pre-employment testing (Background Check, Physical Abilities Test).\n\nHere’s a sample of the many benefits Sysco associates enjoy:\nComprehensive Flexible Benefits including Health and Dental, Health Care Spending and Wellness Accounts\nShort-Term and Long-Term Disability\nLife Insurance\nCompany Pension Plan\nGroup RRSP\nEmployee and Family Assistance\nStock Purchase Plan\nUnlimited on-line learning through Sysco Interactive University\nSysco product discounts\nPreferred vendor discounts\nFree on-site parking\nEmployee appreciation events\n(*benefits may vary based on location or bargaining unit)\nSysco is committed to Employment Equity.
