This role requires adherence to all company policies, safety standards, and standard operating procedures, including Sysco’s Food Safety Program. The Delivery Driver maintains accurate trip documentation, handles products safely, and performs physically demanding work including repetitive lifting. The position requires a safety-focused, reliable individual who works collaboratively with team members and transportation leadership while representing the company professionally at customer locations.\nRole Responsibilities:\nDeliver meat and seafood products within the Vancouver Region.\nDeliveries outside of Vancouver, i.e. Whistler, Vancouver Island, etc., may be required.\nEnsure that customer orders are delivered within the specified timelines and quality of product is maintained.\nProvide excellent customer service and respond to customer Inquiries\nPerform pre inspection as required\nValidate counts on truck\nComplete run sheets\nPerform daily truck temperature checks\nComplete Daily hour logs\nWarehouse duties as required\nMaintain compliance with MTO regulations\nComply with safety rules and regulations; adhere to all company health and safety policies\nComply with all food safety and HACCP regulations\nAll other duties as assigned.\nFood Safety Program, specific for the assigned role\nCarrying out duties in a safe manner as instructed through safety training\nParticipating in various meetings/groups (shift, departmental, company and safety)\nPerforming other duties as assigned by the Transportation Supervisor.\nQualifications/Skills/Job Requirements:\nValid Class 5 License\nClean Drivers Abstract\nAbility to read, comprehend and carryout instructions in English\nExcellent oral and written communication skills (English fluent)\nPrevious customer service experience\nGood knowledge of the Greater Vancouver area\nPrevious delivery experience within the food industry is an asset\nMust be able to work independently and possess solid organizational skills\nFlexibility with work schedule: highway travel required\nAble to work in a cold environment\nAbility to do heavy lifting up to 75 lbs. unassisted\nAbility to problem solve\nBasic computer knowledge/ general office equipment use\nUse of scanners / inventory system\nSysco is committed to Employment Equity.
