Expertise in finance, attention to detail, and strong leadership skills will be instrumental in maintaining the integrity of our financial operations.\nThis position is available in a hybrid capacity in the following locations:\nEdmonton\nCalgary\nRegina\nWinnipeg\nResponsibilities\nLead and supervise Finance Associates and local AP functions.\nProvide guidance and support to finance associates to ensure that all expense invoices are coded correctly and processed promptly, adhering to company policies and procedures.\nSupervise the preparation and processing of debit notes and credit notes and ensure their accuracy and proper documentation.\nOversee the preparation and processing of vendor debit and repayment transactions, maintaining accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.\nConduct research and follow-up activities to resolve aged vendor payable/invoice issues, ensuring timely resolution and maintaining positive vendor relationships.\nSupport and mentor finance associates, providing ongoing training, feedback, and performance evaluations to foster their professional development.\nWork along side the Finance Manager, Commercial in supporting the customer prebate process and payouts, ensuring timely and accurate payments as per agreements\nCollaborate with other departments to streamline financial processes, improve efficiency, and ensure effective communication and coordination.\nComplies with Sysco’s Food Safety Policy and procedures to ensure food safety, quality and legality requirements are met.\nUnderstands that their role is critical in creating a safe organization with minimal environmental impact and the value that brings to the organization.\nIs willing to drive Environmental, Health and Safety performance by acting as an example and holding their team accountable to complying with EHS programs, policies, and requirements.\nEnable, champion and embrace an inclusive culture.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nQualifications/Skills/Job Requirements:\nMinimum of 3 years’ experience in a finance or accounting role.\nPost-secondary Accounting Diploma or Degree preferred.\nProficient in using financial management software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.\nExceptional attention to detail and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.\nStrong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with team members and stakeholders.\nDemonstrated problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.\nAbility to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.\nSysco is committed to Employment Equity.
