This information is delivered in the form of journal entries, monthly closing activities, account reconciliations, and accounting analysis for SYGMA in accordance with GAAP, SYSCO and SYGMA policies.In addition, the Financial Analyst acts as a guardian for one of our Distribution Sites as well as a group of our Concepts. Periods of overtime may be required during month-end closing activity and key projects.\nEssential Functions\nPerform weekly/monthly gross margin analysis for assigned Concepts and resolve significant discrepancies or variances.\nPerform the weekly forecast of assigned site. Work with the VPGM and staff to ensure accuracy.\nPerform financial statement review, analysis, and variance explanations during close process.\nPrepare weekly/monthly journal entries.\nDevelop and maintain a relationship with VPGM and their staff of assigned center.\nWork with GM’s to ensure accurate accruals and GL account allocations throughout the month and perform monthly accrual analysis.\nPerform timely completion and analysis of assigned monthly account reconciliations.\nProduce and distribute weekly, monthly and quarterly reports\nProvide coverage when the other FP&A Analysts are out.\nEducation:\nBachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required.\nExperience:\n2 years’ experience in finance, accounting, or related field in a large organization required\n1 year SYGMA/Sysco experience strongly preferred.\nMust have solid accounting skills and a working knowledge of GAAP\nCPA and Food Service Industry background a plus\n Skills and Abilities:\nDemonstrated knowledge and skill with PC and ERP systems (Infinium/AS400 Query helpful) and advanced Excel skills\nStrong verbal and written communication skills\nProven ability to build strong relationships with internal and external customers\nProven ability to produce timely and accurate results\nStrong technical and organizational skills\nMust be able to deal with high pressure situations and deadlines\nAbility to juggle multiple priorities\nSome travel may be required but limited\nOVERVIEW:\nSysco is the global leader in foodservice distribution.
