Factors that may be used to determine rate of pay include specific skills, work location, work experience and other individualized factors\nPay: up to $48.17 per hour, based on experience\n2nd or 3rd Shift available\nAnnual Boot and Tool Allowance\nOutstanding benefits:www.syscobenefits.com\nExcellent full-time career with a stable and growing company\nMove your career FORWARD with Sysco Foods!\nJOB SUMMARY\nTo provide safe, reliable and cost-efficient vehicles by performing quality preventive maintenance inspections and repairs as well as performing expert diagnosis and repair as required to prevent breakdowns on road, reduce vehicle downtime and improve total fleet reliability.\nRESPONSIBILITIES\nPerforms supervisory roles when the fleet supervisors or manager is not accessible.\nMentor, teach and share expertise with the fleet technician I and II to aid in their development to positions of greater responsibility.\nExpressed desire to advance to management positions of greater authority.\nDemonstrates clear and concise decision-making skills related to fleet repair and availability of fleet for operations teams.\nProvides clear communication and reporting to the fleet supervisor or manager on a daily basis.\nPerform required inspections and preventive maintenance on vehicles within planned time tolerances.\nMaximize the safety, reliability, and cost efficiency throughout the life cycle of the fleet.\nPerform FAI/CVI (Annual) inspections in accordance with all federal, state and local legal and regulatory agencies. (Includes all state-required inspections and frequencies).\nAddress all driver vehicle inspection report write ups timely, and efficiently.\nDiagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repairs to manufacturer specifications including but not limited to transport refrigeration systems, engines, transmissions and clutches, drive-line, differential, steering and suspension, fuel and ignition system, exhaust systems (including regeneration systems), intake systems, electrical systems, brake systems, HVAC and Refrigeration systems and lift-gate hydraulic, mechanical and electrical systems.\nFollow procedures including documenting all work performed on work order using complaint, cause, and correction format.\nLearn and develop efficiency in Sysco computer programs\nOperates competently within designated parameters and communicates upward before exceeding those parameters.\nQUALIFICATIONS\nEducation\nHeavy Duty truck technical training\nHigh school diploma required\nCurrent and valid driver's license (CDL Preferred, Not Required)\nExperience\n2-year school and 4 years of experience or\n5 years of experience in fleet maintenance and repair\n1-year experience in a leadership role (preferred)\nCertifications, Licenses and/or Registrations\nAnnual Inspector Certification Knowledge, Skills and Abilities\nBrake Inspector Certification Knowledge, Skills and Abilities\nASE certifications & Automotive or Medium/Heavy Duty Trucks (Preferred, Not Required)\nMobile Refrigeration (EPA 608) Type II Certification preferred.\nMobile Air Conditioning (EPA 609) Certification preferred.\nWorking knowledge of computer-based diagnostic software for OEM's and component manufacturers\nThe technician must provide own tools (diagnostic equipment and major tools provided by Sysco) necessary to perform all maintenance repair and diagnostics\nProfessional Skills\nExpert knowledge and skill of all vehicle systems and components\nExpert knowledge and skill in diagnosis and repair of electrical systems on all equipment\nExpert knowledge and skill in diagnosis and repair of refrigeration systems (\nExpert knowledge and skill in Preventive Maintenance Inspections and repair\nModerate knowledge and skill in welding and cutting (gas, electric, MIG, TIG)\nModerate computer skills and knowledge\nExpert knowledge of all DOT (FMCSA) regulations\nModerate knowledge of OSHA safety regulations\nModerate knowledge of environmental regulations\nPhysical Demands\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk and use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and telephone to talk and hear.\nThe employee is frequently required to sit and reach with hands and arms.\nThe employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear.\nThe employee is frequently required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend or crawl.\nThe employee is occasionally required to sit and must frequently lift and/or move up to 75lbs.\nThe employee is Repair work requires excellent hand and finger dexterity used for wrenches, hand tools, and other shop equipment.\nSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.\nAbility to operate various pieces of equipment\nAbility to stand, sit, walk, bend, reach\nAbility to push/pull\nAbility to lift /carry\nAbility to grasp tools\nAbility to perform Repetitive motion: wrenches and hand tools\nWorking conditions: Frequently works outdoors.\nWorking Conditions\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles.\nThe employee is frequently exposed to vibration.\nThe employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions including extreme heat and extreme cold.\nThe noise level in the work environment is usually loud (diesel engine noise and shop equipment).\nBENEFITS INFORMATION:\nFor information on Sysco’s Benefits, please visit https://SyscoBenefits.comOVERVIEW:\nSysco is the global leader in foodservice distribution.
