The Warehouse Lead works in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment and is responsible for monitoring shipping and receiving activities in the department, as well as leading the company’s cycle count program and occasionally operating heavy equipment.\nCompensation: $27/hour\nResponsibilities:\nTrack and manage raw materials, equipment, shipments, and stock levels.\nDigitally manage inventory systems, reconcile variances, and prepare accurate inventory reports.\nMonitor and prevent supply shortages; proactively address unexpected shortages.\nParticipate in regular cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.\nPlace and manage material orders as required to meet operational needs.\nReview, process, and reconcile all incoming and outgoing orders.\nOversee receiving operations to ensure accuracy against purchase orders and quality standards.\nEnsure accurate and timely order picking/selection to meet KPIs.\nManage invoicing, packaging, and preparation of orders for shipment.\nCoordinate accurate, timely, and efficient customer deliveries, including those handled by outside transport.\nPartner with supervisors and management to plan and schedule daily/weekly tasks in line with demand.\nCross-train team members for flexibility and operational coverage.\nConduct on-the-job training and performance reviews for new team members, ensuring smooth integration.\nLead by example, fostering a positive, collaborative, and adaptable work environment.\nProduce daily, weekly, and monthly operational and performance reports.\nSet and monitor productivity goals; ensure targets are consistently met or exceeded.\nCollaborate with the Warehouse Supervisor to improve efficiency and reduce errors, fuel, maintenance, and labor costs.\nMaintain cleanliness and organization across cooler, freezer, and dry storage areas.\nEnsure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and OHSA/Health & Safety standards.\nEnforce company Food Safety and HACCP regulations.\nEnsure all warehouse equipment is maintained and safe to operate.\nOversee cooler/freezer product movement and integrity.\nCommunicate effectively with Sales and other departments to support customer needs.\nAbility to work weekends as needed.\nAbility to work evenings as needed.\nAbility to use scanning guns and warehouse technology effectively.\nAll other duties as assigned.\nQualifications:\n2+ years of hands on experience in a similar role\nExceptional organizational skills\nStrong computer skills\nExcellent time management skills\nGood communication skills, both written and verbal\nAttention to detail\nExcellent problem-solving skills\nStrong decision-making skills\nExcellent financial skills (e.g. budgeting, calculating, accounting)\nA successful Warehouse Lead will often have previous experience on the floor of a retail store or warehouse.\nExperience with responsibilities such as stocking shelves and supplying management with inventory reports are considered an asset to the Warehouse Lead position. A candidate may also have experience in Project Management or Production Management.\nCompletion of specialized training courses in management, inventory management, or computer software is considered a strong asset in a candidate.\nCandidates with a bachelor’s degree in business administration or management can be considered as exceptional candidates for the position.\nAbility to lift 50-70 lbs. \nSysco is committed to Employment Equity.
