{"id":1691342,"url":"https://alion.io/job/sysco-operations-trainer","title":"Operations Trainer","company":{"id":1771007,"name":"Sysco","domain":"sysco.com","url":"https://alion.io/company/sysco-com","size_band":"5000+","is_staffing_agency":false,"employer_type":"direct","is_intermediary":false,"listed_via":null,"ats_vendor":"Workday","truth_index":null},"role":"HR","role_family":"HR","seniority":"junior","employment_type":"full_time","work_mode":"on_site","remote_scope":null,"remote_scope_basis":null,"remote_working_hours":null,"hiring_geo_confidence":"structured","locations":["Vancouver, Canada"],"countries":["CA"],"hiring_countries":[],"hiring_countries_total":0,"salary":{"min":34,"max":null,"currency":"CAD","period":"hour","gross":null,"usd_annual":48000},"salary_estimate":null,"experience_years_min":2,"visa_sponsorship":false,"relocation_package":false,"has_equity":false,"technologies":[{"name":"Microsoft Office","optional":false},{"name":"Outlook","optional":false}],"status":"live","first_seen_at":"2026-10-01T00:00:00Z","employer_posted_date":"2026-10-01","last_verified_at":"2026-10-06T01:30:41Z","board_verified":true,"closed_at":null,"days_open":5,"trust":{"level":"ok","repost_count":null,"flags":[],"days_open":5},"description":"JOB DESCRIPTION\nHourly Rate:\n$34.69/hour\nRole Responsibilities:\n· Train and coach warehouse colleagues on various floor procedures and positions, utilizing Sysco Work Methods and other training tools.\n· Train and certify colleagues on all Material Handling equipment.\n· Ensure the compilation and maintenance of all training and development records and statistics.\n· Identify training needs and oversees training and development\n· Assists with the coaching, mentoring, career development, training, performance management of team with the purpose of improving employee knowledge and skill level.\n· Tracks productivity and accuracy results via daily and weekly reports; creates employee discussion letters related to training as required.\n· Assists with Driver classroom training as required.\n· Conducts and completes observation reports in the warehouse to ensure safe machine operations in the warehouse.\n· Ensures adherence to the responsibilities under the Occupational Health and Safety act.\n· Meet with supervisors weekly to discuss employee’s learning, using Progress Report Templates.\n· Provide both constructive feedback for improvement and positive reinforcement.\n· Time-keeping for employee and reporting time worked to employee’s supervisor, until the employee can clock in and out.\n· Documentation of training hours per colleague.\nIs willing to work safely with minimal environmental impact and understands the importance of reporting all hazards, incidents, and environmental spills immediately to their Supervisor.\nUnderstands that they play an integral role in their own safety and that of their colleagues and is willing to speak out when hazards are present.\n· Complies with Sysco’s Food Safety Policy and procedures to ensure food safety, quality and legality requirements are met.\n· Is willing to work safely with minimal environmental impact and understands the importance of reporting all hazards, incidents, and environmental spills immediately to their Supervisor.\n· Understands that they play an integral role in their own safety and that of their colleagues and is willing to speak out when hazards are present.\n· Perform other duties as assigned.\nQualifications/Skills/Job Requirements:\n· Minimum 2 years working in a warehouse environment.\n· Training experience is an asset.\nWarehouse equipment experience is required, Fork Lift & Pallet License a must\n· High School diploma or general education degree (GED)\nCollege Diploma preferred in Teaching, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management or a closely related field required; or equivalent combination of education and related experience.\n· Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook\n· Sound knowledge of the Occupation Health and Safety Act.\nValid driver’s license in good standing with access to a vehicle is required.\n· While performing the duties of this job, the colleague is occasionally exposed to wet, hot, extreme cold and/or humid conditions; and moving mechanical parts and may be required to work in confined spaces.\n· The colleague works non-traditional business hours including evenings, nights, weekends, holidays and on-call.\nThe colleague may occasionally be required to travel, although infrequent, to other Operating Companies or the corporate office as business needs dictate (i.e. training).\nSysco is committed to Employment Equity.
