This role requires a higher level of skill and responsibility, demonstrating increased efficiency, accuracy, and the ability to handle more complex orders.\nResponsibilities:\nOrder Selection:\nAccurately select and gather products from warehouse shelves according to customer orders using pick sheets, voice-directed systems, or other order fulfillment technologies.\nEnsure the correct quantity, quality, and product codes are selected for each order.\nStage selected products for loading onto delivery trucks in a timely and organized manner, optimizing space utilization.\nInventory Accuracy:\nIdentify and report any discrepancies or discrepancies in inventory to supervisors.\nAssist with cycle counts and inventory adjustments as needed.\nEquipment Operation:\nSafely and efficiently operate material handling equipment such as electric pallet jacks, order pickers, and voice-directed picking systems.\nSafety & Compliance:\nAdhere to all safety regulations and company policies.\nMaintain a clean and organized work area.\nReport any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards immediately.\nTeamwork:\nMay assist in training new selectors on safe work practices and order selection procedures.\nCollaborate with other warehouse personnel to ensure smooth and efficient warehouse operations.\nSkills:\nOrder Selection: Proven ability to accurately and efficiently select orders with minimal errors.\nEquipment Operation: Proficiency in operating material handling equipment such as electric pallet jacks, order pickers, and voice-directed picking systems.\nPhysical Strength: Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy objects (up to 75 lbs) frequently.\nAttention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy when selecting and staging orders.\nSafety Awareness: Strong awareness of safety procedures and the ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment.\nTeamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a team and assist in training new team members.\nCertifications:\nForklift certification preferred.\nVoice-directed picking system training preferred.\nEducation:\nHigh school diploma or GED\nExperience:\n2+ years of experience\nSysco is committed to Employment Equity.
