Provide training, product information, regulatory guidance, and customer service in support of the distribution of products and services.\nRESPONSIBILITIES:\nIncludes, but not limited to, the following. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.\nProvide precise, accurate market information and facilitate the expectations of our Sysco/Freshpoint operating companies.\nMaximize unit growth.\nComplete all files accurately prior to submitting to Accounting Department.\nBe receptive and open to innovative technology and utilize available systems to their capacity.\nTake full responsibility for managing your respective account base.\nReview account profiles on a regular basis and update when changes are necessary or at a minimum on a quarterly basis.\nEnsure accuracy and timely distribution of price lists and confirmations to operating companies.\nBe a team player and assist your fellow merchandiser when needed.\nMaintain and monitor account base by sourcing the best quality and price available.\nCoordinate transportation from start to finish to ensure a timely arrival.\nWrite market updates and post boards daily with marketing changes.\nSuggest weekly ad items to help maintain product sales.\nMaintain current knowledge of all produce markets.\nMaintain daily communication with operating companies and co-workers to keep them posted on any market changes.\nFacilitate the promotional paperwork with your operating companies.\nSupport new product development (i.e., samples, special pricing, and feedback collection, etc.).\nCoordinate food show allowances with companies and suppliers.\nDaily communication with operating companies to keep them posted on any market changes.\nAttend and support food shows as requested.\nContinually work to procure items not currently being sourced through the Corporate program.\nPractice good organizational skills and time management.\nPerform general duties as requested by upper management.\nQUALIFICATIONS:\nExperience:\nFoodservice background and broad knowledge of food products helpful.\nEducation\nBachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.\nLanguage Skills\nRequires much time on the telephone.\nMust have clear communication skills.\nLimited writing and e-mail usage equivalent to a 12th-grade education.\nMathematical Skills\nAbility to apply proportions of practical situations.\nReasoning Ability\nAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.\nAbility to interpret a variety of instructions, written and oral.\nOther Skills and Abilities\nMust have good organizational skills and the ability to deal with new and unusual situations.\nAbility to use a personal computer.\nCertificates, Licenses, and Registrations:\nMust be registered with the Florida State Department of Agriculture Market Enforcement Branch to buy and sell produce.\nPhysical Demands:\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and talk or hear.\nThe employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell.\nThe employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.\nSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.\nWorking Conditions:\nThe above information on this description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by associates within this classification.
