Factors that may be used to determine rate of pay include specific skills, work location, work experience and other individualized factors\nJOB SUMMARY\nThe primary purpose of this position is to support the outbound shipping department. Checkers are responsible for accurately verifying all outgoing products. This will include dates if applicable, quantities, correct pack size and description. All of this is done with compliance with Sysco’s Preferred Work Methods.\n RESPONSIBILITIES\nCheckers will verify the order has been selected accurately by using sheets generated from the Sysco warehouse management system (SWMS).\nTag all outgoing pallets so a loader is signaled he can load.\nTransfer all dates and information to the warehouse pull sheet.\nObtain market manager’s approval when the product is short dated and notify the warehouse supervisor.\nCleaning and assisting in the cleanliness of the warehouse.\nQUALIFICATIONS\nEducation\nHigh School diploma or equivalent preferred.\nExperience\n6 months of general warehousing experience, audit6ing accounting or bookkeeping preferred.\nProfessional Skills\nMust have very strong attention to detail.\nSelf-motivated and hard work driven.\nAbility to multitask.\nBe able to read and speak English.\nPhysical Demand\nAbility to lift up to 50 lbs. often and up to 80 lbs. occasionally\nCan stand and walk for the entire shift\nAble to work in both ambient and freezer temperatures.\nWork Environment\nThe workload can vary significantly.\nAssociates in this role must have the flexibility to work shifts that may include long hours and have varying shift start and end times.\n DECISION-MAKING AUTHORITY\nMost important decisions made fully independently:\nWhen to bounce back and forth between multiple loads.\nIdentify damaged products.\nMost important decisions made with review and approval of other individuals or supervisors (include the reviews/approvals required):\nSwapping out the short-dated products.\nSigning off on pre-paid pallets.\nShorting product.\nORGANIZATIONAL REPORTING\nSupervisor Title\nWarehouse supervisor/lead\nBENEFITS INFORMATION:\nFor information on Sysco’s Benefits, please visit https://SyscoBenefits.comOVERVIEW:\nSysco is the global leader in foodservice distribution.
