Factors that may be used to determine rate of pay include specific skills, work location, work experience and other individualized factors\nJOB SUMMARY\nThis is an Operations position responsible for moving trucks and trailers in and out of dock doors for loading and unloading.\nRESPONSIBILITIES\nCollaborates with the loaders and supervision to move trucks and trailers from one location to another according to door assignments.\nChecks to ensure that each unit is sealed and that the refrigeration unit is operating correctly and running.\nMoves trucks and trailers from dock to dock as needed to complete the loading process which includes dropping and hooking trailers.\nEnsures the trailer or truck is completely loaded and secured before moving from the dock area.\nWorks with transportation management to ensure the proper equipment is used on the proper route.\nWorks closely with fleet shop management to ensure any repairs are finished before using the equipment.\nHelps keep truck parking yard free of debris and trash.\nArranges trucks and trailers on the yard in an orderly and efficient manner.\nMoves trucks and trailers for receiving when needed.\nRecords start up time and reefer set points for pre-cooling purposes\nEnsures trailer doors are closed while not in the dock\nThe following duties may also be required at the site:\nCheck oil and fluid levels.\nFueling trucks and trailers.\nWash out trailers.\nCheck lights/hoses/tires.\nQUALIFICATIONS\nEducation\nLess than high school education.\nExperience\n1 year of warehouse or transportation experience preferred.\nTruck backing experience preferred.\nCertificates, Licenses, and Registrations\nValid driver’s license required.\nPallet Jack and Forklift Certification from Sysco.Can obtain once hired into the role.\nProfessional Skills\nAble to communicate efficiently with others in a proficient manner\nCan add, subtract, multiply and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.\nApply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.\nDeal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.\nAdapts to changes in the work environment.\nFollows instructions, and responds to management direction.\nTakes responsibility for own actions.\nInspires the trust of others.\nWorks with integrity and ethically.\nUpholds organizational values.\nAsks for and offers help when needed.\nFocuses on solving conflict, not blaming.\nDemonstrates persistence and overcomes obstacles.\nMeasures self against standard of excellence.\nFollows policies and procedures.\nUses time efficiently.\nTactfully approaches others.\nDemonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.\nLooks for ways to improve and promote quality.\nApplies feedback to improve performance.\nObserves safety and security procedures.\nUses equipment and materials properly.\nContributes to building a positive team spirit.\nAble to build morale and group commitments to goals and objectives.\nPhysical Demands\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.\nRegularly required to stand; walk, bend; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. \nClimb into trailers and tractors.\nSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.\nWorking Conditions\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
