We are seeking aCritical Facilities Supervising Engineer - Project Manager to join either our Washington DC, Chicago, IL, Boston, MA, New York, NY or Los Angeles, CA office. As a Critical Facilities Supervising Engineer - Project Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining project efficiency and project quality while communicating regularly with Client Leader and periodically with various project managers.\nOur dynamic work environment provides the optimal setting to take your engineering career to the next level. From our supportive culture, diverse workforce, and competitive compensation to our flexible work schedule Monday to Thursday in the office for 9 hours and Friday for 4 hours remotely at home and fun social events, it is everything you will need for an exciting, challenging, and rewarding career.\nJob Responsibilities\nAs the Critical Facilities Supervising Engineer - Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing the function of projects. Must take ownership of the client’s and the firm’s project goals for those projects assigned to him/her in terms of project contract management, understanding and managing client expectations, tight project schedule control, controlling and optimizing project financials including billing and collections, and ensuring optimal project information flow (internally and externally). Must work closely with trade specific project engineers to ensure all the items above are delivered in a coordinated product. Develop staff skills like project management.\nAdditional responsibilities include:\nDeliver project(s) schedule and budget.\nEstablishes project budgets and schedules.\nEnsure QC process is in practice.\nParticipates in QA/QC process of completed work by staff.\nCommunicate regularly with Client Leader - Project managers of other services who may be managing another project for the same client.\nMaintain project efficiency.\nMaintain client satisfaction - externally and internally.\nAssume responsible charge for the overall economic wellbeing of the assigned projects.\nConduct business development activities.\nConducts due diligence reports that comply with group and company standards and procedures. Establishes design standards, specifications, and criteria for projects.\nDesigns large projects, prepares reports and specifications, and provides a very high level of technical leadership.\nNetworks within SHG and outside.\nPerforms “Engineer of Record” duties for projects. \nPerforms calculations, equipment selection, equipment specification, system design, system layout, field investigation, and construction administration.• Performs staff resource management and review.\n\nProduces drawings consistent with client requirements and standards.\nProvides consulting engineering services including preparation of due diligence reports, gap analyses, and feasibility reports.\nPursues continuing education.\nRepresents Firm in all interactions with clients, contractors, architects, and other project team members.\nTake responsible charge for the project for his/her discipline, addressing any E & O issues.\nJob Requirements\nAdditional requirements include:\nBachelor’s degree from accredited university in Mechanical, Plumbing or Electrical discipline\n12+ years of relevant experience in the MEP industry.\nPE is required.\nHands-on design and CAD/REVIT experience, required, as you will have a very strong technical role\nBenefits\nAs an employee with Syska Hennessy Group, you will be part of a global firm with an amazing history!
