From our supportive culture, diverse workforce, and competitive compensation to our flexible work schedules and fun social events, it’s everything you’ll need for an exciting, challenging, and rewarding career.\nJob Responsibilities:\nAs a Senior Fire Protection/Fire Life Safety Engineer, you will perform design engineering and provide system design support by working closely with all MEP disciplines to assure well-coordinated designs. This dynamic role will also involve consulting and interfacing with clients, architects, vendors, contractors, and authorities having jurisdiction. \nAdditional Responsibilities:\nConduct field surveys, system assessments, and system commissioning\nAttend coordination meetings and job sites\nPerform calculations under Supervising Engineer/Designer\nProduce clear and concise drawings consistent with client requirements and firm organization format and drawing standards\nApply Codes and Standards to all designs (including working drawings and specifications)\nConducting peer reviews and QA/QC oversight\nPerform code interpretation\nAssist in business development by expanding on current client relationships, cross selling Syska services and by attending industry and clients events\nJob Requirements:\nThis is a great opportunity for aSenior Fire Protection/Fire Life Safety Engineer with a large variety of facility types including Commercial, Industrial, Institutional, and Governmental buildings experience, as well as experience in critical facilities, storage facilities. In addition to your engineering experience, to succeed in this role, you will need a solid knowledge of fire protection systems design for various projects with the ability to communicate design concepts via drawings and specifications. Experience in Fire Alarm, Standpipe/Sprinkler, VESDA, and Clean Agent system design is required; along with experience in the development of Fire Safety Plans; Fire, Smoke & Egress Modeling.\nEngineer requirements:\nBachelor's Degree from accredited college or university in Fire Protection, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering discipline\nMinimum of 8+ years field experience with previous experience in Fire Protection and Fire Alarm System and FLS design.\nKnowledge of ICC, NFPA and Local codes and standards. Knowledge of NYC codes preferred\nNICET certification in Fire Alarm or Fire Protection systems preferred\nCurrent P.E. or Fire Protection P.E.is REQUIRED\nThe ability to achieve security clearance from Federal Government (project specific)\nThe ability to work independently or in a team environment effectively in a fast -paced, and challenging environment\nOpen to traveling to various project locales\nExperience in using AutoCAD-MEP, and REVIT to develop designs\nPossesses strong interpersonal relationship skills and strong communications skills both verbal, written and presentation\nBenefits:\nAs a Fire Protection Senior Engineer with Syska Hennessy Group, you will be part of a global firm with an amazing history!
