You will play a key role in modernizing existing database landscapes, consolidating legacy systems, and supporting product teams with reliable, high-performance PostgreSQL-based solutions.\nYou will be part of the Platform Engineering Team, developing backend-focused platform services and supporting multiple product teams across the group.\n Design, implement, and operate PostgreSQL-based database solutions as part of the central platform in multi-tenant scenarios.\n\nTake technical ownership of PostgreSQL schema design, performance tuning, and operational stability.\n\nPlan and execute migrations from legacy or heterogeneous database systems to PostgreSQL.\n\nCollaborate closely with backend engineering teams to integrate database solutions into backend services.\n\nDefine and maintain standards and best practices for relational data modeling and database operations.\n\nEnsure high availability, backup and recovery, and predictable performance of PostgreSQL systems.\n\nContribute to platform architecture decisions and long-term data strategy.\n\nSupport and enable product teams through reviews, guidance, and hands-on collaboration.\n\n Strong hands-on experience with relational databases, ideally PostgreSQL.\n\nDeep understanding of data modeling, indexing strategies, and query optimization.\n\nExperience with database migration and modernization projects.\n\nHands-on experience operating PostgreSQL in cloud environments, preferably on AWS (RDS, Aurora).\n\nGood understanding of backend software architectures and data access patterns.\n\nProficiency in at least one programming language used in backend development.\n\nAbility to balance hands-on engineering with architectural thinking.\n\nAvailability to work with significant overlap to business hours in Germany (CET/CEST).\n\nFluent English skills are required;
