The successful candidate will bring deep Cisco networking expertise along with strong knowledge of routing protocols, resilient WAN architectures, VPN technologies, and cloud connectivity. This is a senior, hands-on engineering role that will include both project-based engineering and Tier 3 operational support across a complex enterprise network.\n\nABOUT THE RESPONSIBILITIES\n\nDesign, implement, configure, and optimize enterprise routing solutions using BGP, OSPF, VRF, route redistribution, route filtering, and routing policies.\nDesign, deploy, and maintain WAN, internet, colocation, and site connectivity across global locations.\nEngineer and troubleshoot IPsec VPN, Quality of Service, high-availability, and cloud connectivity solutions.\nConfigure, maintain, and troubleshoot Cisco IOS-XE routers and Cisco Catalyst and Nexus switching platforms.\nSupport resilient enterprise routing and switching architectures across data centre, office, WAN, and cloud environments.\nSupport SD-WAN technologies and ongoing network modernization initiatives.\nEvaluate network performance and recommend improvements to availability, resiliency, scalability, performance, and supportability.\nProvide Tier 3 escalation support for complex routing, switching, WAN, VPN, and connectivity incidents.\nParticipate in an on-call support rotation as required.\nDevelop and maintain network diagrams, routing standards, configuration templates, operational procedures, and technical documentation.\nCollaborate with Network Security, Cloud, Infrastructure, Operations, service providers, and business stakeholders.\nWork with carriers and technology vendors to troubleshoot connectivity and service issues.\nContribute to network automation, standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives.\nABOUT THE REQUIREMENTS\n\nBachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and practical experience.\nStrong hands-on experience designing and supporting complex enterprise networks.\nDeep knowledge of BGP, OSPF, VRF, route redistribution, route filtering, and routing policy.\nExtensive experience with Cisco IOS-XE routers and Cisco Catalyst and Nexus switching platforms.\nStrong experience designing and troubleshooting resilient WAN architectures.\nExperience with IPsec VPNs, Quality of Service, high-availability architectures, and carrier circuits.\nExperience with network authentication and access technologies, including Cisco ISE, TACACS, RADIUS, and 802.1X.\nExperience with networking within Microsoft Azure and/or AWS.\nStrong understanding of enterprise routing, switching, WAN, and network connectivity principles.\nStrong technical troubleshooting and analytical capabilities.\nAbility to diagnose complex network issues across multiple technologies and environments.\nStrong technical documentation skills.\nExcellent written and verbal English communication skills.\nAbility to work effectively with technical teams, service providers, and business stakeholders.\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS\n\nExperience with Palo Alto ION SD-WAN.\nExperience with Palo Alto firewalls and network security technologies.\nExperience with Zscaler.\nExperience with F5 LTM and/or Cloudflare.\nExperience with Python, Terraform, or other infrastructure-as-code and network automation technologies.\nExperience with DNS, DHCP, and Infoblox.\nFamiliarity with VMware and Linux environments.\nExperience supporting complex, global enterprise networks.\n\nABOUT THE ROLE\nThis is an initial 6-month remote contract opportunity with the potential for extension based on ongoing business requirements.\nCandidates for this position must be based in the United States. Eastern or Central Time Zone candidates are preferred, although candidates located farther west may be considered based on experience and fit.\nThe role may require occasional travel, with convenient access to Boston, Cleveland, and Washington, D.C. being beneficial.
