Job Title: IT Support Contractor

Reports to: IT Operations Manager

Location: London office (hybrid. 3 days in office)

Contract type: day rate

Purpose of the role

Systemiq is looking for a Level 1 IT Support Contractor to provide first-line technical support to staff. The role covers day-to-day IT support tasks currently handled by the team, including hardware setup, ticket triage, and office technology support.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to and resolve first-line IT support tickets, escalating complex issues to Level 2 or 3 as needed
• Set up and configure laptops, monitors, and other hardware for new starters and existing staff
• Support office print infrastructure, including troubleshooting printers and managing print queues
• Manage user account requests, such as password resets and access changes
• Maintain accurate records of support requests and resolutions in the ticketing system
• Support onboarding and offboarding processes, including account creation and equipment provisioning
• Provide basic support for common software tools and internal systems
• Monitor and maintain office wifi, including troubleshooting connectivity issues and liaising with the network provider where needed
• Keep IT policy documents up to date and aligned with the International Organization for Standardization's ISO 27001 information security standard
• Provide remote support to staff in other Systemiq offices, resolving issues where possible and escalating on-site work to local contacts as needed
• Escalate recurring or systemic issues to the IT Operations Manager

Skills and experience required

• Prior experience in a first-line IT support or helpdesk role
• Working knowledge of Windows 11
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD), including user and access management
• Familiarity with common office hardware (printers, monitors, laptops) and basic network troubleshooting
• Awareness of information security standards, ideally ISO 27001
• Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach
• Ability to prioritise and manage multiple requests at once
• Experience with ticketing systems (e.g. ServiceNow, solarwinds) is an advantage
