This is an in-person role out of our Arlington, VA or Woburn, MA site. This position will provide hands-on experience in data interpretation, reporting, workflow analysis, software applications, and the development of standardized procedures and training materials. The intern will collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve data visibility, streamline business processes, maintain accurate documentation, and support operational efficiency.\nResponsibilities\nIn this role, you will:\nAssist with collecting, organizing, validating, and analyzing data to support business operations and internal decision-making.\nDevelop and maintain spreadsheets, reports, dashboards, and data trackers using Microsoft Excel and other analytical tools.\nAnalyze data trends, identify discrepancies, and summarize findings to support operational reporting and process improvement initiatives.\nSupport the use and administration of business systems, software applications, databases, and other operational tools.\nEvaluate existing workflows and business processes to identify inefficiencies, opportunities for improvement, and potential areas for automation or standardization.\nAssist with documenting business processes, developing standard operating procedures (SOPs), and maintaining clear, consistent process documentation.\nCreate training documentation, instructional materials, and presentations to support employee education and the adoption of business systems and processes.\nDevelop and update user guides, training materials, and presentations using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and applicable content development tools such as Articulate.\nAssist with organizing, maintaining, and improving SharePoint sites, document libraries, and other document management systems.\nSupport data and document quality initiatives by maintaining accurate records, validating information, and ensuring documentation is current and accessible.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, troubleshoot system or process issues, and communicate findings and recommendations.\nAssist with implementing standardized reporting methods, improving data accessibility, and enhancing operational workflows.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nRequirements\nCurrently pursuing a degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Information Technology, or a related field.\nMust be a U.S. citizen due to the nature of STR's work and applicable regulations.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data, recognize patterns, and identify opportunities for improvement.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.\nExperience with or an interest in data visualization and reporting tools such as Power BI, as well as querying languages such as SQL, is preferred.\nAbility to learn new software applications, business systems, and technical tools quickly.\nStrong written communication skills, with the ability to develop clear, organized, and user-friendly documentation, SOPs, and training materials.\nStrong organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly when working with data, documentation, and business processes.\nFamiliarity with or an interest in SharePoint, document management, workflow analysis, and process standardization.\nSelf-motivated, adaptable, and collaborative, with the ability to work independently and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.\nPrevious experience with data analysis, reporting, technical documentation, process improvement, or business systems is beneficial but not required.\nPerks:\nCompetitive pay\nFree housing for interns at our Massachusetts site, or bonuses at other sites\nFlexible working hours\nFun summer activities both in and outside the office\nPay Information\nHourly Range: $25.20-$54.00/hour\nThe salary range listed is based on external market data.
