The successful candidate will build AI- and data-centric applications that help users analyze information, make decisions, and work effectively with advanced software systems. These are not corporate websites or marketing pages. They are mission-focused applications built for real operational and analytical use. We are seeking candidates ranging from experienced developers to technical leads; this is not an entry-level role.\nThe Role:\nDevelop on a new development effort through stages of design, implementation, and demonstration. This role will be hybrid with a target of 2 days in either our Woburn, MA or Arlington, VA office. Specific responsibilities include:\nFront-End and User ExperienceBuild modern, responsive, and reusable web applications using React and related front-end technologies.\nTranslate wireframes, prototypes, and design direction into production-ready interfaces with strong attention to usability and detail.\nContribute to early-stage interface thinking, workflow definition, and design iteration in close collaboration with designers and stakeholders.\nDevelop efficient, high-performance components for data visualization and user interaction, including large data sets and complex mission workflows.\nDeliver intuitive, user-centric and data-centric interfaces for mission-focused applications.\nPartner closely with designers, engineers, program leads, and end users to refine workflows, requirements, and interaction patterns.\nHelp shape reusable component libraries, patterns, and front-end foundations that can be used across programs.\nCommunicate with the project team, users, and clients to develop and document requirements.\n\nBack-End and IntegrationDesign and implement APIs, application state, and supporting back-end services needed for user-facing features.\nDesign the interface layer to the rest of the back end, including appropriate GraphQL solutions.\nContribute to service and back-end architecture decisions for application workflows, data access, and system integration.\nDesign service contracts, data flows, and backend integration patterns.\nWork across the full request/response path from user interaction through service logic and data access.\nIntegrate front-end applications with supporting services and application back ends.\nSupport containerized application design and deployment where appropriate.\nHelp design, integrate, and implement AI-enabled user interfaces and workflows that allow users to interact effectively with advanced analytics, automation, and decision-support capabilities.\nContribute to data visualization, interactive workflows, and complex interface behavior for mission-focused applications.\n\nDelivery and TeamingImprove application performance, responsiveness, accessibility, and maintainability.\nOptimize applications for speed and responsiveness across a variety of devices and browsers.\nSupport demonstrations, user feedback cycles, iteration, and transition from prototype to deployed capability.\nContribute to technical documentation and communicate design and implementation decisions clearly.\nAssist in the authorship of software documentation such as user training guides.\n\nWho You Are:\nCore RequirementsS. Citizen with a Top Secret SCI-eligible security clearance.\nBachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience\n5+ years of experience building modern web applications that are interactive, data-centric, and responsive across browsers and devices.\n\nFront-End and User ExperienceStrong experience with React, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS and at least one of: Flask, Django, Node, Vue.\nDemonstrated ability to turn design direction, mockups, prototypes, or component libraries into production UI.\nExperience collaborating closely with designers, users, product owners, or other stakeholders to improve workflow and usability.\nGood judgment around interaction design, interface clarity, and user experience.\n\nBack-End IntegrationExperience designing and implementing services or back-end application layers and integrating front-end applications with APIs and supporting services.\nExperience with GraphQL, WebSockets, containerized deployment, or cloud-hosted application environments.\nExperience building, integrating, or implementing AI-enabled interfaces or workflows for user-facing applications.\n\nDelivery and TeamingBe able to work across multiple programs and adapt to different users, domains, and problem spaces.\nProficiency with Git and command-line development workflows.\nAble to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.\n\nEven Better:\nExperience creating or refining wireframes, prototypes, or interaction flows in collaboration with designers.\nExperience contributing to design systems, component libraries, or shared UI frameworks.\nFamiliarity with accessibility standards and building usable interfaces in constrained or specialized environments.\nPay Information\nFull-Time Salary Range: 140,000.00 to $190,000.00\nThe salary range listed is based on external market data.
