A successful incumbent is expected to (i) lead the development, documentation, and implementation of a Quality Management System aligned to ISO 9001:2015, establishing the procedures, process controls, and audit mechanisms required for certification readiness, and (ii) plan and implement corrective and preventive action programs to minimize losses and improve yields, determining improvement goals based on historical performance of KPIs.\nJob Responsibilities:\nDevelop, document, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System, quality manual, procedures, work instructions, and records, aligned to ISO 9001:2015, supporting progression toward certification readiness\nPlan and implement corrective and preventive action programs (8D/CAPA) to minimize losses and improve yields; determine improvement goals based on historical performance of KPIs\nDevelop and execute an internal audit program (ISO 9001:2015 clause 9.2) to monitor conformance to Quality Procedures and Inspection/Test Instructions; prepare management review inputs (clause 9.3)\nApply statistical methodologies for continuous improvement of processes (Gage R&R, hypothesis testing, control charts, process capability)\nEstablish and maintain process controls and inspection criteria for fabrication processes: weld quality (visual acceptance criteria, WPS and welder qualification records), metal cutting and forming (first-piece and in-process inspection), and paint/coating (surface preparation, film thickness, adhesion)\nDevelop workmanship and inspection standards for control panel assembly, including wiring verification, torque checks, and functional/electrical testing, with awareness of UL 508A and IPC-A-620 requirements\nDrive Sustaining Engineering regular reviews and/or early-involvement reviews with cross-functional teams to continuously improve product quality on identified processes, methods and design issues which impact negatively on quality, costs and yields.\nConduct studies and audits of manufacturing processes and products; develop and implement process controls for critical fabrication and assembly operations\nLead manufacturing quality planning on new product introduction; collaborate on component quality planning with internal operations; oversee implementation of APQP practices within New Product Development teams; ensure execution of APQP methods and assigned deliverables, Product Assurance Planning, CTQs, and Control Plans; participate with other teams on the generation of FMEA\nUtilize techniques, systems and methods that promote prevention as the primary solution to quality/reliability issues\nDrive internal PPAPs / product qualification for fabricated components and/or sub-assemblies, to ensure proper qualification process\nWork with New Product Development CORE teams to identify CTQ attributes and then develop PFMEAs and Product Control Plans for proper planning to achieve within the product and process design.\nServe as escalation point for addressing all component-related throughput, quality issues and/or technical term discussions encountered by manufacturing to facilitate cross-functional resolution\nComply with health and safety guidelines and rules; managers should also ensure compliance across their teams.\nProtect Chamberlain Group’s reputation by keeping information confidential.\nMaintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reading professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.\nContribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results and participating on projects as needed.\nJob Requirements:\nBachelor's degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical/Electronics, Manufacturing, Materials, Welding, or Mechatronics), or other related bachelor's degree in an engineering, engineering technology, or applied science discipline; an equivalent combination of technical education and quality engineering experience may be considered\n5+ years of experience in manufacturing processes or Quality Engineering\nExperience with products/processes transfers\nExperience in Quality Control techniques and applied statistics\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:\nWorking knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 requirements and QMS documentation structure\nAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings, including GD&T\nStrong analytical, organizational, statistical, and structured problem-solving skills\nProject management\nWorking knowledge of new product introduction (APQP)\nWorking knowledge in DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFA (Design for Assembly)\nWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office and related applications\nPreferred Job Requirements:\nCertification as a Quality Engineer (ASQ CQE)\nQMS Internal Auditor certification; ISO 9001 Lead Auditor a plus\nGreen Belt certification\nAWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) / Certified Welding Educator, or equivalent weld inspection training\nExperience with product safety standards\nExperience in metal fabrication operations (welding, cutting, forming, painting/powder coating) and/or industrial control panel assembly\nExperience developing or implementing a QMS through ISO 9001 certification\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:\nBasic knowledge of Infor SyteLine ERP\nBasic knowledge of Windchill\nFamiliarity with welding standards (AWS D1.1/D1.3), coating specifications (SSPC), and UL 508A / IPC-A-620 workmanship standards\n\nThe pay range for this position is $72,300.00 - $116,775.00; base pay offered may vary depending on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience. In addition to base pay, also offered is a comprehensive benefits package and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
