The role requires someone who can independently own complex development workstreams, contribute to technical design decisions, troubleshoot complex issues, and ensure high standards of code quality and engineering practices.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\nDesign, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications and services using Core Java.\nDesign and implement AWS serverless and event-driven solutions.\nDevelop and maintain serverless components using AWS Lambda.\nImplement asynchronous and event-driven processing using Amazon SQS and related AWS services.\nDesign and implement data persistence solutions using PostgreSQL and DynamoDB.\nDevelop efficient SQL queries, stored database operations, and data-access components.\nDesign robust application workflows with appropriate exception handling, retry mechanisms, idempotency, error handling, and logging.\nImplement application monitoring and troubleshooting capabilities using Amazon CloudWatch.\nAnalyze existing/legacy application workflows and translate business and technical requirements into modernized Java/AWS solutions.\nParticipate in technical design discussions and contribute to solution and component-level architecture.\nWrite clean, maintainable, reusable, and testable code following established coding standards and design principles.\nDevelop comprehensive unit tests using JUnit/Mockito and maintain appropriate code coverage.\nPerform peer code reviews and provide technical guidance to other developers.\nTroubleshoot complex application, database, integration, performance, and AWS-related issues.\nWork closely with Architects, Business Analysts, QA engineers, DevOps engineers, and customer technical teams.\nParticipate in technical walkthroughs, design reviews, code reviews, testing, and defect-resolution activities.\nSupport CI/CD and deployment activities across development and test environments.\nTake end-to-end ownership of assigned modules/features from technical design through development, testing, and successful delivery.\n\nTechnical Skills:\n\nMandatory:\n6+ years of software development experience, with strong hands-on Java development experience.\nStrong expertise in Core Java.\nStrong understanding of:\nObject-Oriented Programming and design principles\nCollections\nException Handling\nJava Streams\nMultithreading and Concurrency\nGenerics\nDesign Patterns\nStrong hands-on experience with PostgreSQL / SQL.\nStrong understanding of JDBC and database connectivity.\nExperience designing and developing REST APIs and backend services.\nStrong understanding of application architecture, debugging, performance optimization, and troubleshooting.\nExperience with JUnit / Mockito and automated unit testing.\nExperience with Maven and Git.\nAbility to understand complex existing systems and translate requirements into technical solutions.\nExperience working in Agile software development environments.\n\nAWS Skills:\nCandidates should have good hands-on experience with AWS, particularly:\n\nAWS Lambda\nAmazon SQS\nAmazon DynamoDB\nAmazon CloudWatch\nAWS IAM concepts and permissions\nServerless and event-driven architecture concepts\nLogging, monitoring, retry, failure handling, and troubleshooting in AWS environments\nExperience with additional AWS services such as S3, SNS, EventBridge, Step Functions, Secrets Manager, Parameter Store, API Gateway, and RDS/Aurora PostgreSQL will be an advantage.\n\nPreferred / Good-to-Have Skills:\nExperience with AWS CDK, CloudFormation, Terraform, or other Infrastructure-as-Code technologies.\nExperience working on legacy application modernization or cloud migration programs.\nExperience modernizing batch-oriented or monolithic applications into serverless/event-driven architectures.\nExperience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.\nUnderstanding of microservices and distributed application architecture.\nExperience with application observability, monitoring, and performance optimization.\nExposure to static code analysis and quality tools such as SonarQube.\nAWS certification such as AWS Certified Developer -
