This entry-level role compiles and analyzes financial information, prepares workpapers and tax calculations, and supports income tax returns, estimated payments, extensions, quarterly and annual income tax provisions, and tax examinations. The accountant will work with experienced tax professionals, receive coaching and feedback, and build technical, analytical, and professional skills through a variety of assignments and special projects.\nResponsibilities\nSupport the preparation of U.S. federal income tax returns, related foreign information reporting, estimated tax payments, and extensions.\nCompile, reconcile, and analyze financial accounting data; prepare well-documented workpapers; and assist with book-to-tax adjustments, taxable income calculations, and tax forms and schedules.\nCoordinate information provided to external tax service providers, track requests and deliverables, and assist with reviewing work products for completeness and accuracy.\nAssist with quarterly and annual income tax provision calculations.\nGather and organize information for federal income tax examinations and assist in responding to information requests.\nPerform tax research and summarize findings.\nPartner with colleagues across Finance and other functional areas to obtain information and help ensure accurate, timely filings and deliverables.\nMaintain organized documentation, communicate status and potential issues promptly, and take increasing ownership of assigned work.\nAssist with various special projects.\nQualifications\nRequired:\nBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.\nPreferred:\nStrong interpersonal and communication skills, with a desire to learn.\nCollaborative mindset and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.\nStrong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.\nDetail oriented, organized, and able to multi-task and meet deadlines.\nKnowledge of, or a willingness to explore, artificial intelligence, tax technology, data analytics tools, and process automation to improve efficiency.\nProficiency in Microsoft Excel.\nCoursework or experience in corporate taxation is a plus.\nCPA eligibility or interest in pursuing the CPA designation is a plus.\nFINRA Requirements\nFINRA licenses are not required and will not be supported for this role.\nWork Flexibility\nThis role is eligible for hybrid work, with up to one day a week from home.\nBase Salary Ranges\nPlease review the job posting for the location of this specific opportunity.\n$59,000.00 - $94,500.00 for the location of: Maryland, Colorado, Washington and remote workers$61,000.00 - $104,000.00 for the location of: Washington, D.C.\n$69,500.00 - $118,000.00 for the location of: New York, California\nPlacement within the range provided above is based on the individual’s relevant experience and skills for the role. Base salary is only one componentof our total compensation package.
