Remote work beyond this arrangement and alternative office locations are not available.*\nRole Summary\nWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer to support the design, implementation, scalability, and reliability of our enterprise network infrastructure. This role will play a key part in network modernization initiatives, connecting colocation data centers with multi-cloud environments, and contributing deep technical expertise across network design, operations, and incident response.\nThe ideal candidate brings strong experience in enterprise networking, hybrid-cloud connectivity, automation, and performance optimization, along with the ability to mentor team members and promote best practices across the network engineering domain.\nResponsibilities\nNetwork Engineering & Design:\nDesign, implement, and maintain scalable, resilient, and secure LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, and hybrid-cloud network solutions \nContribute to network standards, reference architectures, and roadmaps that support business growth and technology modernization \nEvaluate and recommend network hardware, software, and service providers to improve performance, reliability, and scalability \nCloud & Hybrid Connectivity:\nDesign, implement, and support cloud networking solutions across AWS, Azure, and GCP \nSupport and optimize hybrid connectivity using technologies such as AWS VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, Azure VNet, and ExpressRoute \nEnsure seamless integration between on-premises environments and cloud platforms \nPerformance & Reliability:\nSupport and enhance Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices for network operations \nHelp define, monitor, and improve service-level objectives (SLOs) related to network availability, latency, and capacity \nProactively identify performance bottlenecks and implement solutions to improve network resilience and efficiency \nAutomation & Infrastructure as Code:\nContribute to network automation initiatives to reduce manual configuration and improve consistency \nDevelop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and Python \nPartner with operations teams to standardize deployment, monitoring, and operational processes \nIncident Escalation & Root Cause Analysis:\nServe as a senior technical escalation point for complex network incidents \nSupport critical incident response efforts, including troubleshooting, coordination, communication, and service restoration \nConduct root cause analysis and contribute to post-incident reviews to prevent recurrence \nSecurity & Compliance:\nImplement and maintain network security controls in partnership with Information Security teams \nManage and audit firewalls, load balancers, segmentation policies, access controls, and Suricata firewall rules \nEnsure network designs and operational practices align with security, compliance, and risk management requirements \nTechnical Leadership & Collaboration:\nMentor junior and mid-level network engineers \nParticipate in peer design reviews and provide guidance on architecture, troubleshooting, and operational excellence \nPromote engineering best practices, documentation standards, and continuous improvement across the team\nQualifications\nRequired:\nBachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience \n5+ years of relevant experience\nPreferred:\nExpertise in core networking technologies and protocols, including: \no BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, BFD\no EVPN/VXLAN, IPSec, MAC-SEC\no Zscaler, Zero-trust technologies\nProven experience designing, implementing, and supporting hybrid-cloud networking across AWS, Azure, and/or GCP\nSolid experience with network automation and Infrastructure as Code, including Terraform, Ansible, and Python\nDemonstrated ability to lead complex troubleshooting efforts and resolve high-severity production incidents\nSolid communication skills with the ability to collaborate across infrastructure, cloud, security, and application teams\nIndustry certifications such as: \no CCNP\no CCIE\no AWS Certified Advanced Networking - Specialty\nExperience with SD-WAN, network observability, and modern monitoring platforms\nFamiliarity with load balancing technologies and enterprise firewall platforms\nExperience leading technical teams, mentoring engineers, and influencing architecture decisions across organizations\nFINRA Requirements\nFINRA licenses are not required and will not be supported for this role.\nWork Flexibility\nThis role is eligible for hybrid work, with up to three days per week from home.\nBase Salary Ranges\nPlease review the job posting for the location of this specific opportunity.\n$96,500.00 - $164,000.00 for the location of: Maryland, Colorado, Washington and remote workers$105,000.00 - $180,000.00 for the location of: Washington, D.C.\n$120,000.00 - $205,000.00 for the location of: New York, California\nPlacement within the range provided above is based on the individual’s relevant experience and skills for the role. Base salary is only one componentof our total compensation package.
