Product Design Lead

As a Product Design Lead on the Taboola News team in our Tel Aviv office, you’ll own the end-to-end user experience and lead a strong, focused design team behind Taboola News, our consumer content-discovery platform, pre-installed on hundreds of millions of mobile devices through partnerships with the world’s leading OEMs and carriers. 

You’ll lead the UX strategy for a modular, mobile experience catalog that adapts across multiple OEM touchpoints, shaping how millions of users discover, browse, and consume content on their phones. As a B2B2C product, we’re focused on creating an experience that brings value to users and keeps them coming back, while also driving revenue results for our OEM partners. In this role, you’ll work closely with Product, Engineering, Data teams, and OEM partners, combining design leadership with hands-on product design.

To thrive in this role, you'll need:

• 6+ years of experience in product design, with proven success designing B2C mobile-oriented consumer products that drive engagement and long-term retention.
• 3+ years of experience leading, mentoring, and growing a design team.
• Proven experience with user research, conversion funnels, user journeys, and using qualitative and quantitative insights to drive UX decisions.
• Deep experience building and scaling design systems across multi-device or white-label implementations.
• Proven ability to leverage AI to multiply output and impact - using it to move faster from concept to prototype, to establish and scale a design system, and to raise what a small team can ship.
• Comfort operating with senior leadership - presenting UX strategy and results to executives, framing design decisions as business trade-offs, and influencing product direction beyond your own team.
• A bachelor’s degree in design.
• High level of written and spoken English.

Bonus points if you have:

• Background in ad-based products, audience segmentation, and ad monetization UX.
• Experience in gaming - gamification, social dynamics, and habit-forming engagement mechanics.
• Experience designing within OEM, carrier, or mobile environments.

50% Design leadership

• Leading, mentoring, and growing the design team
• Understanding the UX needs of the different PMs and turning them into direction
• Representing and advocating for the user, and the craft bar, in the rooms where product and business decisions get made
• Setting priorities across a wide surface and deciding what gets designed first

50% Hands-on Product design

• Defining and building the design system
• Extracting user insight, qualitative and quantitative, and turning it into decisions
• Designing core flows yourself - concepts, prototypes, end-to-end solutions
• Defining and refining the product vision and strategic planning
