As a Cook, you will play an important role in all phases of food preparation that meets or exceeds Buckner quality, service, and hospitality standards. Join our team and inspire happiness in the lives of others! \nWhat you'll do:\nReview menus and select appropriate ingredients in order to prepare for cooking meals.\nCook breakfast, lunch and/or dinner meals that are nourishing, palatable, and appetizing in appearance; must use standard recipes.\nMaintain meal count and documentation records.\nMaintain food inventories and completes requisition forms.\nPlan cooking schedules for readiness at meal times.\nConduct temperature checks of cooked food.\nServe food according to portion-control guidelines and program needs.\nPrepare food for special diets.\nReceive and store groceries, canned food, frozen food, and produce; date perishable items.\nMove foods and ingredients to/from storeroom and kitchens.\n What you’ll bring:\nHigh School diploma or G.E.D. \nMinimum of one year of related experience preferred.\nRequires ability to drive assigned vehicle(s) or personal vehicle, with appropriate state license, following all laws applicable; must provide proof of liability insurance and must be eligible to be insured under Buckner’s insurance policy. Must be age 21 or older to drive on behalf of Buckner.\nRequires proficient ability to speak, read and write English. Requires ability to read and understand business documents which are written in English.\nRequires ability to understand and follow basic written and oral instructions given in English.\nRequires ability to use up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force continuously to move objects and/or people.\nWork deals mostly with objects, equipment and/or machines where the job is at or within arm’s reach.
