We strive to instill in all of our employees:\nA positive mental attitude that helps us to be a leader in the industry\nA commitment to building strong relationships, both inside and outside the organization\nA desire to learn, grow, and contribute to moving our strategy forward\nA need to create and to innovate\nEmployment Type: Regular Full-Time\nShift: 1st Shift\nWork Status: Hybrid\nPosition Summary\nThe Manager of Electrical Engineering participates in the development of the strategic engineering initiatives and is then responsible for transforming the department initiatives into tactical plans to support corporate research and product development goals.\nMeasures of success:\nImprove the efficiency of electrical development, through successfully building, mentoring, and managing the electrical engineering team\nAccurately develop and manage annual department and new product development (NPD) budgets\nAccurately develop, maintain, and enforce department policies and procedures\nAccurately analyze upcoming technology to determine resource needs and development\nResponsibilities include but are not limited to: \nManages and oversees the design and development of all electrical engineering projects (new and lifecycle).\nManages the internal and external electrical development resources for product development.\nAnalyzes technology, resource needs, and market demand to plan and assess the feasibility of projects.\nManages electrical development initiatives utilizing Agile principles.\nEnsures on-time and on-budget completion of projects.\nDevelops and maintains approved annual budget.\nDevelops and implements policies, standards, and procedures for the engineering and technical work in the department.\nEstablishes and maintains relationships with Product Management, Marketing, Sales, Customer Care, Technical Services, Manufacturing, Quality, Legal, Financial and Purchasing functions.\nSchedules and adheres with agency approvals and test standards required for products in identified target markets.\nAssists the Legal Department in the managing of intellectual property, including new patent filing and legacy patent administration.\nPerforms all other duties as assigned.\nPeople Management \nEvaluates team members to identify strengths and opportunities for improvement; collaborate on development actions and ensure resources necessary to complete actions.\nCascades relevant and appropriate information about the company and department effectively and in a timely manner.\nCoaches and mentors for skill and knowledge development.\nExecutes necessary responsibilities of team during absences or alternate engagement.\nEnsures team adheres to company policies, practices, and department standards.\nAssigns actions and ensure completion.\nReviews work quality and provides feedback and guidance to team.\nRequired:\nBachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering\nFive (5) to Seven (7) years of experience in a research and development (R&D) engineering role, developing platform products\nOne (1) to Three (3) years of experience in leading teams and managing projects\nStrong background using circuit layout and printed circuit board layout software\nProficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Teams and Project)\nStrong background in circuit simulation\nStrong background in design for electromagnetic compatibility / electromagnetic interference (EMC/EMI)\nStrong ability to develop strategic engineering initiatives to support overall corporate objectives\nStrong project planning, organizational management, and technical leadership skills with a proven track record of successful execution\nProven ability to develop and manage projects\nDemonstrated relationship management and decision-making skills\nProven ability to lead, motivate and inspire cross-functional teams\nOccasional travel required to conferences, customer / rep sites, etc.\nPreferred:\nMaster’s Degree in Electrical Engineering\nThree (3) to Five (5) years of experience in a research and development engineering role, developing platform products\nDesign for Six Sigma experience and Six Sigma Green Belt or higher\nWork Environment:\nThis position works primarily in an office environment using computers and technology. Verbal and auditory capability are required. Occasional exposure in production plant where large equipment and noise are prevalent. Safety gear is required in these areas.\nThis position may work from home up to 2 days/week if performance is in good standing.\nManagement:\nThis position has approximately 6 direct reports.
