Whether it's harnessing fusion through the science of stars, making exponential leaps in power efficiency, or innovating medical care with a novel cancer treatment: We're turning the promise of science into reality.\nWe’re looking for candidates who are passionate about realizing our mission: A future where all people have affordable access to reliable, abundant, and environmentally friendly fusion-generated electricity.\nAbout The Role\nDesign and develop neutral beam injection systems, including ion sources, beam optics, vacuum system and beam dumps\nDesign high-voltage components (100 kV-1 MV class systems)\nDevelop thermal management solutions for high-power-density components\nCollaborate with physicists to integrate beam line components in the NB injector\nPrototyping, testing, and commissioning of beamline systems\nAbout You\nExperience with one or more:Charged particle beam systems\nPlasma sources (especially ion sources)\nHigh-voltage engineering\nVacuum systems\n\nGood knowledge of SolidWorks or Catia\nFamiliarity with simulation tools:COMSOL Multiphysics, ANSYS, or similar\n\n5-10 years professional experience in an engineering role (design, analysis, test or manufacturing)\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with neutral beam injection systems or fusion devices\nKnowledge of:\nRF ion sources or negative ion generation\nHigh power flux dumps\nMagnetic confinement systems (tokamaks, stellarators)\nHands-on experience with:\nHigh-power test systems\nDiagnostics (Langmuir probes, spectroscopy, beam diagnostics)\nHigh voltage systems\nEducation\nBachelor’s degree in design/mechanical engineering or related field\nAt TAE Technologies, we consider a wide range of factors when making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and job-related knowledge, training; licenses and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements depending on the position offered (non-Sr., Sr.,).
