We are seeking an experienced Field Support Engineer to serve as a trusted technical partner to our customers, dealers, and internal teams across North America.\nIn this highly visible role, you will provide expert remote and on-site support throughout system design, implementation, commissioning, acceptance, and ongoing operation. You will troubleshoot complex radio and networked systems, lead technical delivery in the field, and strengthen team capability through coaching and knowledge sharing.\nYou will be a subject matter expert and technical lead, combining hands-on engineering expertise with sound judgment, strong customer service, and the ability to take ownership of issues through resolution. You will also support sales development activities by helping shape practical, technically sound solutions.\nWhat You’ll Do\nAct as the primary technical interface for customers following delivery of Tait products and systems.\nProvide remote and on-site technical support, owning issues from initial diagnosis through resolution.\nParticipate in requirements-capture and validation meetings, offering practical field expertise.\nDevelop test protocols and support factory, customer, site-acceptance, and regression testing.\nLead or support system staging, configuration, software updates, integration, and testing.\nPerform or support equipment installation, site commissioning, system acceptance, and product field trials.\nPlan and deliver customer training and technical presentations.\nManage on-site technical activities to agreed schedules, requirements, and contractual boundaries.\nCoach engineers, review technical work, and help establish high standards across the team.\nPartner with sales, presales, solutions engineering, project engineering, and support teams to develop effective customer solutions.\nWhat You’ll Bring\nAt least five years of technical experience in wireless communications repair, maintenance, field service, or a closely related environment.\nStrong practical knowledge of land mobile radio systems; experience with trunking and simulcast systems is preferred.\nDemonstrated expertise in RF systems, including design, installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting.\nExperience diagnosing complex technical issues across hardware, software, operating systems, and networks.\nWorking knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems, TCP/IP, network standards, protocols, and hardware.\nStrong planning, organization, leadership, and customer-service skills.\nClear written and verbal communication, with the confidence to explain technical concepts to varied audiences.\nA collaborative, adaptable approach and a commitment to integrity, professionalism, and continuous learning.\nQualifications and Travel\nAssociate of Science in Electronic Technology, equivalent military training, or comparable industrial experience required.\nCisco certification or related networking credentials are an advantage.\nModerate to significant travel is required to various customer sites, including occasional international travel and travel at short notice.\nWhere You’ll Fit\nYou will report to the Customer Support Manager and work closely with engineering, presales, solutions, technical support, dealers, customers, technology partners, and global specialist teams.\nWhy Tait?\nThis is an opportunity to work on technically challenging, mission-critical communication systems while building trusted relationships with customers and colleagues around the world.
