You’ll play a key role in the development and enhancement of the connectivity platform that underpins our next generation of mobile and portable radio products.\nWorking across all levels of our embedded firmware, with a platform-centric focus, you'll contribute to the delivery and maintenance of robust, secure, and high-performing wireless solutions. From Bluetooth and Wi-Fi integration through to development of value-add features, you'll have a direct impact on products relied upon in some of the most demanding environments.\nYou'll join a highly experienced team that values collaboration, technical excellence, and developing innovative solutions that keep critical communications connected.\nKey Responsibilities include:\nDesign, develop, and maintain embedded firmware for mobile and portable radio products.\nDevelop and support Bluetooth and Wi-Fi solutions, including integration, performance optimisation and feature enhancements.\nContribute to the design and evolution of platform software, connectivity frameworks, and core firmware components.\nInvestigate, troubleshoot, and resolve complex system and connectivity issues across the software stack.\nSupport the integration of wireless technologies, audio systems, and peripheral interfaces.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver new features and product enhancements.\nDrive continuous improvement in software quality, development practices, and technical processes.\nContribute to the future direction of wireless connectivity capabilities within our products.\nTo view the position description click here.\nŌ pūkenga - About You\nYou'll be an experienced embedded software engineer who enjoys solving technical problems and developing high-quality products. You bring a strong foundation in embedded development, coupled with hands-on experience in wireless communication technologies and a passion for building reliable, real-world solutions.\nYou will bring:\nProven experience developing embedded firmware for commercial products.\n Strong programming skills in C/C++\nExperience developing software for embedded and real-time operating systems.\nHands on experience with Bluetooth and/or Wi-Fi Technologies, including protocol integration, connectivity troubleshooting, and performance optimisation.\nA solid understanding of wireless communication principles, network concepts and embedded system architecture. \nStrong debugging, problem-solving and software design skills.\nExperience working across multiple layers of a software architecture, from platform-level code through to application functionality.\nThe ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in an agile development environment.\nExposure to radio communications systems, device drivers, or hardware-near software development would be an advantage.\nStrong written and oral communication skills.\nNgā painga - What’s in it for you?\nWe are an employer that is committed to making a difference for families and communities and supporting people to build rewarding careers.
