BPD includes cell line development, upstream cell culture, downstream purification, in-process analytics, pilot labs to facilitate scale up and transfer, and technology development teams, working collaboratively to deliver Takeda’s novel therapeutics.\nRole Overview:\nThe Biotherapeutics Process Development co-op supports biotherapeutics process development by executing hands-on cell culture experiments. This role involves planning and running studies across a range of upstream unit operations, including bench-top bioreactors, Ambr microscale bioreactors, shake flasks, and WAVE bioreactors. You will collaborate with team members to execute complex studies to generate high-quality data, maintain accurate documentation, and contribute to the optimization of upstream processes.\n How You Will Contribute:\nAs a Biotherapeutics Process Development Co-op you will have the opportunity to…\nExecute and monitor experiments using cell culture and upstream unit operations (bench-top bioreactors, Ambr, shake flasks, WAVE bioreactors)\nOperate and monitor bioprocess equipment using DeltaV or similar process control systems\nPrepare cell culture media, feed, and buffers\nDocument experimental work in electronic laboratory notebooks with clear, accurate, and timely records\nPerform basic data analysis to evaluate trends and support study conclusions\nPrepare technical summaries and study updates to communicate findings\nAdhere to laboratory procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements\nCo-op Development Opportunities:\nGain hands-on experience with laboratory equipment and bioreactor systems\nExpand knowledge of cell culture process development including understanding the effects of process parameter and media additives on cell culture process performance\nGain experience in designing complex experiments and interpreting cell culture data\nWork as part of Takeda’s Biotherapeutics Process Development Team for a period of approximately 6 months gaining hands-on experience with various aspects of process development\nGenerate, analyze, and communicate results to Takeda scientists and engineers\nJob Requirements:\nThis position will be Fully Onsite (4+ days/week in office)] out of the Lexington, MA location\nMust be pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in chemical engineering,biochemistry, biomedical engineering, chemistry, biotechnology, or related field. \nExcellent communication skills, both oral and written\nAbility to learn new techniques and perform multiple tasks simultaneously\nTakeda Compensation and Benefits Summary\nWe understand compensation may bean important factoras you consider an internship opportunity.
