This role focuses on Value Creation and Sourcing Excellence¸ Team Leadership & Capability Development, Standardization & Process Excellence, Supplier & Risk Management, ensuring alignment with business goals and contributing to Takeda's mission.\nHow you will contribute:\nSet and own the multi-year sourcing strategy across the category portfolio, aligned to Takeda's enterprise priorities and patient-centric mission.\nDeliver a sourcing plan and pipeline to agreed quality, customer and performance KPI‘s.\nDrive quality, expertise, and risk-aware execution - supporting Strategic Procurement in complex environments and enabling their focus on value creation.\nLead and develop a team of Sourcing Associates, Sourcing Managers, and Senior Sourcing Managers. Act as primary executive interface for Category Managers, Business Units, and Site Leadership Teams.\nAccountability and ownership on relationships with suppliers and stakeholders, when managed by the value delivery team\nCategories in scope: Indirect (Professional Services, Sales & Marketing, HR, Facilities), R&D (CROs, Lab Services, Pharma Sciences), Direct (Raw & Packaged Materials, CMOs, Cell Therapy, Distribution & Logistics)\nDrive continuous Improvement mindset and approach to improve performance of process, team and experience\nDevelop strategy and conduct negotiations with suppliers at different levels.\nACCOUNTABILITIES:\nValue Creation and Sourcing Excellence\nDefine and own multi-year global sourcing strategies aligned to GPO frameworks and business priorities aligned to global category strategies\nChampion total cost of ownership (TCO) and drive value levers: cost, demand, innovation, risk, ESG\nOwn and monitor savings, RFx cycle time, sourcing KPIs, and stakeholder satisfaction\nMaintain the project pipeline in Wave; drive continuous improvement against efficiency, customer and quality targets\nPrioritization of workload and delivery focus\nChampion Continuous improvement and growth mindset\nTeam Leadership & Capability Development\nLead and manage a sourcing team with strategic thinking, performance focus and the ability to multi-task, think critically with a growth mindset and prioritize work\nCoach team on sourcing execution, negotiation techniques, CI, growth mindset and stakeholder interaction\nFoster a climate that inspires, enables, encourages open dialogue, feedback and diverse opinions\nElevate capabilities across self, team members and key business partners; ensure compliance with Takeda training requirements\nTranslate business needs into effective sourcing strategies; challenge demand where appropriate\nAlign site and regional priorities with Global Category Strategies and GPO frameworks\nEscalate complex or strategic topics appropriately to CPO / Head of Value Delivery\nStandardization & Process Excellence\nImplement and enforce standardized sourcing templates, playbooks, and workflows\nIdentify opportunities for automation with digital and AI for process optimization and simplification\nDrive continuous improvement and a performance culture\nKeep abreast of industry trends and best practices in sourcing execution\nSupplier & Risk Management\nIdentify and mitigate supply chain risks to ensure business continuity and patient supply security\nInterface to Operational Procurement (procurement solutions)\nAlign with Central Finance on end-to-end execution and service delivery\nMaintain clear process boundaries between global category, sourcing and operational procurement\nEDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:\nBachelor's degree in relevant field\nMBA would be an advantage\nBehavioural:\nAs members of Global Procurement, you are expected to demonstrate ways of working that support our strategic ambition and shape how we create value for Takeda. Role-specific examples of these behaviors are embedded throughout the objectives, accountability, and skills outlined in this job description.\nCompetencies and skills:\nExperience: 10+ years of procurement experience with at least 4 years in a senior leadership role. Proven track record in sourcing management and delivering cost/value targets in a complex matrix organization. Pharma, biotech, or FMCG experience preferred. Technical skills:\nStrong background in sourcing execution and procurement transformation, preferably in a GCM setup\nExperience leading and developing sourcing execution teams or shared service environments\nDeep understanding of Source-to-Contract processes with ability to drive digital and AI improvement\nStrong knowledge of sourcing, contract lifecycle management, and supplier management processes\nProficiency with SAP Ariba or equivalent eSourcing/P2P platforms and Wave Pipeline management\nExperience working in a complex global environment preferred.\nExceptionally skilled at stakeholder management.\nCollaborative and diplomatic, with demonstrated track record of operating successfully with limited day-to-day direction and ambiguity.\nStrong attention to detail.\nExceptional communication and presentation skills both oral and written.\nExtensive experience using Microsoft desk top applications (e.g. PowerPoint, Excel) and experienced with using Generative / Agentic AI\nLanguages: Fluent written and spoken English\nBENEFITS:\nIt is our priority to provide competitive compensation and a benefit package that bridges your personal life with your professional career.
