I further attest that all information I submit in my employment application is true to the best of my knowledge.\nJob Description\nAbout the Role:\nServe as the Engineering subject matter expert for a specific process area (cell culture, harvest, purification, clean-in-place, or utilities systems)\nEnsure systems remain in a qualified state. Act as technical owner for system lifecycle including design, installation, qualification, production support, deviation resolution, maintenance, and decommissioning\nMonitor system reliability and performance. Develop and implement engineering solutions to complex problems. Lead programs related to system qualification, asset management, project execution, and Good Engineering Practices. Support development of site staff on technical and procedural topics\nHow you will contribute:\nDevelop engineering deliverables including Process Flow Diagrams, P&IDs, System Specifications, and Functional Specifications\nImplement system modifications under cGMP change control\nDevelop and execute FAT, commissioning protocols, and qualification protocols\nDevelop calibration and preventative maintenance plans\nLead deviation investigations and implement corrective and preventative actions\nParticipate in capital planning, spending, and tracking\nServe as project manager on small to medium projects under $5M\nInterface with cross-functional teams to meet project goals\nStay current with industry best practices and technologies\nComplete required training within timeframe\nSelecting technologies, designing equipment, and diagnosing process issues\nMaking data-driven decisions using engineering principles\nEnsuring impact to product quality, safety, reliability, and throughput\nMaintaining regulatory compliance and validation requirements\nTroubleshooting factory floor issues and supporting capacity planning\nManaging impact to uptime, batch continuity, and manufacturing schedule\nResponding to urgency and severity of equipment failures\nDetermining escalation thresholds\nBalancing short-term mitigation versus long-term solutions\nPerform other duties as assigned\nWhat you bring to Takeda:\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering\n3 or more years of relevant experience\nExperience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology manufacturing environment\nEngineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer license preferred\nDemonstrated track record supporting process operations and projects in an FDA-regulated environment\nKnowledge of engineering principles including fluid mechanics, heat transfer, thermodynamics, and mass transfer\nExperience applying project management methodologies\nUnderstanding of commissioning and qualification protocol development\nDirect experience with systems such as bioreactors, centrifugation, chromatography, tangential flow filtration, CIP, autoclaves, clean utilities, and HVAC\nFamiliarity with instrumentation and sensing technologies in pharmaceutical manufacturing\nExperience with regulatory requirements and GMP environments\nExperience supporting large capital projects\nFamiliarity with batch control systems, data historians, SQL, and scripting (preferred)\nKnowledge of automation, PLCs, power systems, and controls (desirable)\nProficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and MS Project\nAbility to work in fast-paced, cross-functional teams\nStrong planning, prioritization, and escalation judgment\nImportant Considerations:\nAt Takeda, our patients rely on us to deliver quality products.
