You will work across all three, developing physical demonstrators and experimental systems used to explore new technologies and future product possibilities.\nYou could be designing a component in CAD one day, integrating electronics and writing embedded code the next, before taking the complete system into the lab for testing.\nYour role\nYou will take ownership of practical engineering projects from initial idea through to a working demonstrator.\nYour work will include:\nDesigning and building electromechanical prototypes and experimental systems\nIntegrating electronic components, microcontrollers and mechanical assemblies\nDeveloping and adapting embedded software / firmware for prototype applications\nCreating mechanical parts and assemblies using 3D CAD\nUsing 3D printing and other rapid-manufacturing techniques to produce prototype components\nSelecting and integrating suitable components, interfaces and technologies\nAssembling, debugging and testing complete systems in the laboratory\nRunning experiments to understand technical feasibility and performance\nRapidly modifying designs based on test results and engineering feedback\nWorking alongside specialists from different technical disciplines to solve complex development challenges\nWhat we are looking for\nWe're particularly interested in engineers with a broad technical foundation rather than specialists who want to remain within one narrow discipline.\nYou should ideally bring:\nDegree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering or a comparable technical discipline\nPractical electronics development experience\nExposure to microcontrollers / embedded software / firmware\nMechanical design and 3D CAD experience\nExperience with 3D printing or rapid prototyping\nConfidence building and troubleshooting physical systems\nStrong practical engineering and problem-solving ability\nCuriosity and willingness to learn technologies outside your core specialism\nYou don't need to be an expert in every area.
