The Tax Office Manager will support tax preparation operations, maintain professional and compliance standards, assist with client service, and may oversee a team of tax preparers.\nResponsibilities\nOversee day-to-day remote tax preparation operations\nPrepare and/or review individual federal and state income tax returns\nSupport tax preparers with workflow and operational questions\nMonitor return accuracy, documentation, and completion\nMaintain secure and confidential taxpayer information\nFollow applicable IRS due diligence and electronic filing requirements\nCommunicate professionally with clients and tax preparers\nMaintain organized client and tax preparation records\nAssist with developing and maintaining client relationships\nParticipate in required operational and compliance training\nEnsure applicable filing deadlines and internal procedures are followed\nQualifications\n\nQualified candidates should have:\nAn active EFIN or the ability to apply for and obtain IRS approval\nA valid PTIN when personally preparing federal tax returns for compensation\nStrong communication and organizational skills\nAbility to work independently in a remote environment\nReliable computer and internet access\nAbility to protect confidential taxpayer information\nStrong attention to detail and professionalism\nTax preparation, tax office, or team leadership experience preferred\nWork Arrangement\n\nThis position is fully remote and structured as an independent contractor engagement. Contractors are responsible for managing their schedules while meeting applicable client service expectations, filing deadlines, compliance requirements, and operational responsibilities.\nCompensation\nThis is a commission-based independent contractor position. There is no guaranteed hourly wage or salary. Compensation is based on completed tax preparation services and the applicable commission structure. Actual earnings vary based on production, client volume, completed returns, and other applicable factors.
