Constellation (TSX: CSU) is a publicly traded company that acquires, manages, and grows vertical market software businesses around the world.\nAs a trainee, you'll work side by side with our senior finance professionals, getting hands-on exposure to the processes that drive our Business Unit and Corporate Financial Statements. You'll put your technical accounting knowledge into practice, help us find smarter ways of working, and learn the accounting practices used across the software and services industry. \nThis is a 3-month paid trainee program with a clear path to full-time employment for strong performers.\nWhat You'll Learn\nAccounting and bookkeeping under International Accounting Standards, applied to real business transactions\nDaily bank reconciliations across multiple businesses, including how to spot and investigate potentially fraudulent transactions\nMicrosoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) and Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations accounting software and its reporting tools\nMulti-currency accounting and how foreign exchange affects business operations\nRoom to grow into areas such as intercompany reconciliations and head office expense allocations\nWhat You'll Do\nRecord income and expense transactions and support day-to-day bookkeeping\nPerform daily bank reconciliations in Microsoft Dynamics GP and Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations for all North American businesses under The Vertus Group\nPrepare monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts\nHelp post journal entries for corporate allocations\nRecord employee Client Cardholder expense transactions\nSupport ad hoc projects and help compile data from various data sources\nRun regular control reports to confirm journal entries are posted accurately\nWho You Are\nYou're highly organized and a clear communicator, comfortable juggling multiple priorities without losing sight of the details.\nYou build strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders, and bring a positive, service-minded attitude to the finance team. Experience in a multi-location environment is a plus.\nYou're proactive and eager to learn: you ask lots of questions, offer solutions, and are always looking for ways to improve how things get done.\nWhat You Bring\nFinalist or part-qualified in a professional accounting designation (ACCA, ICMAP, or similar), and a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field\nA solid grasp of bookkeeping and accounts payable/receivable fundamentals\nProven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records\nStrong data entry skills and a natural knack for numbers\nFamiliarity with ERP and proprietary software (Microsoft Dynamics GP or Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations preferred)\nStrong written and verbal English communication skills, and proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel\nA high degree of accuracy and attention to detail\n Disclaimer: At Contour, we attribute our success to the unique contributions of our diverse staff.
