The Senior Data Engineer will lead the design and development of scalable, high-performance data architectures and models for both batch and streaming data processing. This person will define and execute a strategic Data Engineering Roadmap that maximizes the value of the organization's data assets and ensures alignment with long-term business goals. This involves managing ETL/ELT processes, optimizing database systems for performance and scalability, and driving continuous improvement in data engineering workflows. The Senior Data Engineer also collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure that data solutions meet business needs and support data-driven decision-making across the organization.\nThis position is EST-based. Talkspace is headquartered in NYC.\nWhat You’ll Do\nData Architecture and ModelingLead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable and high-performance data architectures and models that support both batch and streaming data processing.\nDefine and drive the execution of a strategic Data Engineering Roadmap that unlocks the full potential of the organization's data assets, ensuring alignment with long-term business objectives.\nOwn, enhance, and evolve critical datasets, including high-leverage streaming and batch data pipelines, along with the development of advanced data discovery, search experiences, and enterprise-wide reporting and data visualization tools.\n\n Database Processing and ManagementOversee complex data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL/ELT) processes from diverse sources, driving critical analyses, manipulating large datasets.\nSpearhead the administration, tuning, and optimization of database systems to ensure robust performance, reliability, and scalability, with a focus on both existing and emerging data technologies\n\nContinuous ImprovementLead efforts to identify inefficiencies and potential areas for optimization in current data engineering processes, workflows, and technologies.\nDrive the adoption of industry-leading best practices and cutting-edge tools to enhance operational efficiency, reduce technical debt, and scale data engineering capabilities across the organization.\n\nMLOps ImplementationDevelop and maintain MLOps pipelines that automate the deployment, monitoring, and management of machine learning models in production.\n\nPerform other related duties as assigned.\nAbout You \nBA/BS in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. Our salary bands are based on internal and external compensation benchmarks, which we regularly evaluate to ensure we pay competitively.\nThe base salary range for this role is between $146,000 - $180,000.
