Learn more at tandemdiabetes.com\nA DAY IN THE LIFE:\nDefines and executes tests of software products in accordance with software test plans and procedures. Able to debug issues and drive to closure by working closely with appropriate stakeholders. Takes ownership for product initiatives, by identifying and executing on projects. Create documents that capture test operations and reports results to software engineering. Capable of creating and reviewing automated test scripts to expedite test execution. Software Test Engineer I's at Tandem are also responsible for:\nDevelops and assists with implementation of software validation test plans.\nAutomates test plans and provides input on test frameworks/tools.\nWorks with CI systems to ensure tests are updated and functional across multiple builds/releases.\nPrepares and reviews software test plan reports including pass/fail product evaluations.\nPerforms and documents software test audits in compliance with test plan procedures.\nAssists product development engineers in the diagnosis and replication of product failures. \nOversees and identifies actual or potential problems in test plans.\nManages own time efficiently to complete work and associated paperwork by assigned completion dates.\nRecords and compiles data for documentation of test procedures and prepares reports.\nReviews data for compliance to specifications, recognizes events outside the norm, and reports abnormalities.\nEstimates test efforts for new project deliverables.\nPlans and implements test strategies for system upgrades.\nWorks as a contributing member of cross-functional teams as needed, working closely with R&D engineering, Technical Support and Quality Engineers to match software testing processes with documented specification requirements.\nWHEN & WHERE YOU’LL WORK:\nHybrid: This role will be a mix of in-office work at our corporate headquarters in Del Mar, CA and remote work. This position is expected to be in office 2 days per week but may vary depending on business demands.\nWHAT YOU’LL NEED:\nAbility to read and follow procedures and flow diagrams.\nAble to effectively share information and ideas within and outside of department in written or verbal form; able to put forth own ideas and gain understanding from others.\nProficient at supporting effective interactions between team members and among cross-functional teams.\nDemonstrated ability to schedule and coordinate project priorities and resources and to produce high quality work.\nExperience with Scrum and Agile methodologies.\nExperience with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).\nProficient knowledge of at least one embedded or cloud-based programming language, preferably JavaScript, Python, C or C# would be a plus. \nFamiliar/working knowledge of CI systems.\nFamiliar with common test frameworks and automation tools, preferably selenium web driver, jasmine, mocha, Appium would be a plus.\n EXTRA AWESOME:\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline (w/ 0-2 years of experience) OR Bachelor's degree in another discipline may be considered with 3 years of directly related experience with software testing or quality assurance.\nCoursework in software engineering concepts, highly preferred\nAbility to participate in specification and clarification of software requirements\nAbility to comprehend an E2E system, under concepts of design change\nAbility proofread, follow detailed work instructions and exhibit critical thinking skills.\nCOMPENSATION & BENEFITS:\nThe starting base pay range for this position is $39.23 to $43.27 per hour. Base pay will vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and may also fluctuate depending on candidate’s location and the overall job market. In addition to base pay, Tandem offers a competitive compensation package that includes bonus and a robust benefits package.\nTandem offers health care benefits such as medical, dental, vision available your first day, as well as health savings accounts and flexible saving accounts.
