This is a hands-on operational role that changes with the seasons, combining packhouse dispatch, coolstore and logistics responsibilities during our busy cherry and stonefruit season, with orchard work during the off-season.\nIf you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, keeping things organised and getting stuck in alongside the team, this could be a great opportunity.\nAbout the role\nDuring our busy packing season, you’ll be a key part of keeping fruit moving efficiently from the packhouse to our customers. You’ll coordinate daily dispatch, inventory and coolstore activities, work closely with transport providers, and help ensure our fruit leaves site in great condition and on time.\nYour responsibilities will include:\nCoordinating daily local and export dispatches\n\nOrganising product and preparing loads for transport\n\nLoading trucks and supporting day-to-day forklift operations\n\nManaging packed fruit, packaging and consumable inventory\n\nCoordinating inward fruit trucks, packaging deliveries and bin movements\n\nMonitoring coolstore space, temperatures and stock movements\n\nCompleting dispatch and inventory documentation accurately\n\nTroubleshooting stock or dispatch discrepancies\n\nSupporting food safety, quality and export compliance requirements\n\nGuiding and supporting seasonal team members during peak operations\n\nWhen the packhouse season winds down, you’ll swap the packhouse for the orchard and work alongside our orchard team. Depending on experience, this could include:\nTractor and machinery operation\n\nMowing, mulching and vegetation management\n\nPruning and tree training\n\nFruit thinning\n\nIrrigation maintenance\n\nOrchard infrastructure and general maintenance\n\nSupporting and training seasonal orchard employees\n\nIt’s a role with plenty of variety and the chance to build experience across two important parts of our operation.\nWhat we’re looking for\nYou’ll ideally bring experience from a logistics, warehousing, dispatch, horticulture, manufacturing or packhouse environment, along with a practical, organised approach to getting things done.\nWe’re particularly interested in someone who has:\nForklift certification and confident operating experience\n\nStrong organisational and planning skills\n\nExperience coordinating day-to-day operational activities\n\nGood computer skills and an understanding of inventory or stock control\n\nThe ability to prioritise when things get busy\n\nA practical approach to problem solving\n\nA strong commitment to health and safety, food safety and quality\n\nThe confidence to support, train and work alongside seasonal employees\n\nExperience with coolstores, export fruit, tractors or agricultural machinery would be an advantage, but you don't necessarily need to tick every box.\nMost importantly, we’re looking for someone who enjoys being hands-on, takes ownership and works well as part of a team.\nHours and seasonality\nThis role is designed around the seasonal nature of our Hinton’s operation.\nYou'll have a minimum of 30 contracted hours per week, with significantly more hours available during peak season.\nDuring the quieter orchard months, there is flexibility around how those 30 hours are worked, potentially across three or four days.\nDuring our busy cherry and stonefruit season, you'll need to be comfortable working the hours required by the operation, including six to seven days per week at peak times.\nHours worked above 50 hours per week will attract an overtime incentive.\nWhy this role?\nThis isn't a job where every month looks the same.\nYou’ll have real responsibility for keeping our dispatch operation running smoothly during one of the busiest parts of the year, then get the opportunity to head outdoors and work across our orchards when the season changes.\nFor someone who enjoys variety, responsibility, machinery and practical work, it offers a great mix.\nIdeally, we're looking for someone who can join us during November.\nIf this sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you.\nApply now \nProof of eligibility to work in New Zealand is required for all applicants and any offer of employment will be subject to a satisfactory drug test, credit check, driver licence check, and security check.\nWe want T&G to be a place where everyone is accepted, respected and celebrated for who they are - regardless of our similarities or differences. It’s essential that everyone can be themselves and thrive, and that together we create a diverse and vibrant workplace.","description_format":"text","description_chars":4643,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":null,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":{"level":"bachelor","optional":false},"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":[],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-10-27T15:16:51Z"}],"visa":[],"liveness":{"score":86,"band":"hot","label":"Hiring now","p_open":1,"p_active":0.857,"p_room":1,"age_days":5,"expected_fill_days":23,"reasons":["conf:4","win:early"],"computed_at":"2026-11-01T06:10:25Z"},"pay":null,"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/tandgcareers-dispatch-supervisor-orchard-operator","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/tandgcareers-dispatch-supervisor-orchard-operator.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-11-01T10:44:03Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","about":"Alion is a live layer of people, companies and AI agents: who they are, whether they are real and active right now, what they do and how to work with them, readable by people and by agents and paid per call.","catalog":"https://alion.io/catalog.json","usage":{"tier":"crawler_verified","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":16601,"day_limit":null,"remaining_today":null,"minute_limit":300,"resets_at":"2026-11-02T00:00:00Z"}},"offers":[{"id":"company.slices","title":"One company in depth, by slice","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002,"plus_per_slice":{"credits":0.05,"usd":0.005}},"unit":"per company, plus each slice with data","note":"the employer in depth","call":{"mcp_tool":"get_company","arguments":{"id":4418366},"rest":"https://alion.io/mcp/rest/get_company?id=4418366"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.slices&for=job%2Ftandgcareers-dispatch-supervisor-orchard-operator"},{"id":"market.stats","title":"A market slice: pay, demand and time to fill","status":"live","price":{"credits":1,"usd":0.1},"unit":"per slice","note":"pay, demand and time to fill for this role and place","call":{"mcp_tool":"market_stats"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=market.stats&for=job%2Ftandgcareers-dispatch-supervisor-orchard-operator"},{"id":"job.search","title":"Open jobs by role, technology, place, pay and visa","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002},"unit":"per posting in a list","note":"similar open postings","call":{"mcp_tool":"search_jobs"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=job.search&for=job%2Ftandgcareers-dispatch-supervisor-orchard-operator"},{"id":"company.verify","title":"Is this company real and active right now","status":"pilot","price":null,"unit":"per company","request":{"url":"https://alion.io/catalog/request","method":"POST","body":"{\"offer\": \"company.verify\", \"for\": \"job/tandgcareers-dispatch-supervisor-orchard-operator\", \"note\": \"what you need it for\"}"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.verify&for=job%2Ftandgcareers-dispatch-supervisor-orchard-operator"}],"agent":{"mcp":"https://alion.io/mcp/jobs","mcp_open":"https://alion.io/mcp/open","next":[{"tool":"get_job","arguments":{"id":3340411}},{"tool":"search_jobs","arguments":{"company":"tandgcareers.co.nz","detail":"compact"}},{"tool":"match_people","arguments":{"job_id":3340411},"note":"people open to offers who fit this vacancy"}],"note":"The same data through MCP tools: https://alion.io/mcp/open needs no sign-in (compact searches, postings, people); https://alion.io/mcp with an Alion account has everything.
