This role is expected to be hands-on and support the day-to-day tasks in building assortments, pricing, promotion, markdown, buy planning, receipt plans, store allocation strategies, gross margin, and overall inventory management. This role will have a tremendous impact on new product development and growth, focusing on how we meet the needs of our consumers while meaningfully differentiating from the competition - and all the execution implications of that strategy. We are a small company on the brink of a business transformation - we need a strong merchant team who can work collaboratively to drive product strategy, cultivate strong vendor relationships, and execute at retail.\nJOB TITLE\nAssistant Buyer\nREPORTS TO\nSenior Product Manager\nLOCATION\nFort Worth, Texas (In office)\nMAIN RESPONSIBILITIES\nResponsible for the input and updating of data in merchandising tools\nResponsible for all system and data updates\nResponsible for adhering to the calendar and critical deadlines\nKey liaison for tracking inventory commitments and conveying information between cross-functional partners\nAssist with ad hoc projects that will require a complete understanding of the product life cycle\nCollaborate with key cross-functional partners daily; establish relationships to promote best practices and process adherence.\nIdentify our key competitors, understand consumer perceptions of both Tandy and competition, and work to develop a product strategy that meets our consumers' needs and differentiates from the competition.\nAnalyze historical and in-season selling to guide our actions in future seasons plans\nAssist with projection management from initial pre-planning stage through execution at retail\nAssist in preparation for critical milestone deliverables; create and compile essential selling tools for new product launches and promotions.\nCoordinate and manage samples for Product Management and Commercial\nStrengthens financial acumen to better react to business needs\nESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS\n0-3 years of general merchandising experience\nWork experience in a direct-to-consumer industry\nHighly collaborative, with the ability to work in partnership with all levels of the organization\nBalanced creative and analytical thinking (left/right brain balance)\nProficient in Microsoft (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)\nAbility to learn and utilize in house systems\nStrong written and verbal communication skills with both external and internal business partners\nHigh energy and fast-paced office environment, subject to quick turnaround situations\nHighly organized, detail-oriented & accurate\nStrong analytical skills\nResourceful, efficient, and takes initiative\nExcellent time management with a sense of priority for deadlines and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously\nTakes ownership of given projects with the ability to take them from start to finish\nAbility to lead in the inventory management of their area of responsibility\nEQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY\nOur Company is committed to equal employment opportunity in all aspects of employment.
