By accelerating delivery of critical systems, Tangram is transforming the way our nation solves complex software challenges.\nJOB RESPONSIBILITIES\nTechnical Leadership\nDesign & Code: Architect, develop, and test high-performance software (C/C++, Java, Python, Rust) aligned with open standards to ensure modularity and interoperability.\nSystem Optimization: Analyze and improve system efficiency, resource allocation, memory management, and overall platform stability and scalability.\nContinuous Innovation: Stay ahead of emerging defense tech trends, evaluate new tools, and contribute to internal and external technical communities.\nClient Engagement & Business Development\nClient Technical Thought Partner: Act as the primary technical point of contact to gather requirements, manage expectations, and deliver on project commitments.\nProduct Support & Demos: Provide technical guidance, deliver findings, and lead product demonstrations for customer engineers.\nGrowth & Proposals: Identify expansion opportunities during client engagements and help author Statements of Work (SOWs) and technical proposals to capture follow-on work.\nEngineering Mentorship & SDLC\nTeam Leadership: Mentor and grow software engineers, driving code reviews, best practices, and collaborative culture across software and systems engineering teams.\nProject Management: Facilitate the end-to-end software lifecycle using Agile SDLC methodologies, actively participating in sprint planning, reviews, and integration events.\nIntegration, Testing & Product Delivery\nTangram Product Integration: Learn, demonstrate, and maintain deep technical expertise in Tangram Flex products within customer environments.\nVerification & Validation: Support end-to-end system testing, performance analysis, and hardware/software integration to resolve complex technical issues.\nCross-Functional Alignment: Collaborate across engineering disciplines and participate in key in-person client alignment and integration meetings.\nREQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS\nEducation: BS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience (MS/PhD preferred).\nExperience: 8 years in software engineering development, including proven hands-on technical leadership on R&D or product development projects.\nSecurity Clearance: U.S. Citizenship required; must possess or have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance.\n\nExpert-level C/C++ development skills.\nSecure Development: Experience in end-to-end software product development using secure software engineering practices.\nclient Engagement & Travel: Willingness and ability to travel up to 20% of work time to client sites, customer locations, and industry conferences as required. \nWork Location based in Dayton, Ohio \nNICE TO HAVE SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS\nSystem Execution: Ability to independently execute complex technical tasks in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, small-team environment with minimal supervision.\nCommunication & Proposals: Professional written and verbal communication skills to author technical documentation, support proposal development, and present to external customers (experience leading R&D proposals preferred).\nDefense Network: Strong existing technical relationships with DoW/defense laboratories (e.g., AFRL, ONR, DEVCOM/CERDEC) \nWHAT WE OFFER\nWe are committed to staying rooted in our core value of Team First.
